So what do you want to see in preseason game 2 from Gang Green?
bowles dodged a bullet playing the kid with guys that won't make an NFL roster.. that should never, ever happen again..
Jets coming a preseason week one victory looking to double down this early preseason... Sam Darnold has been getting most of the reps this week for the matchup against Washington, only one real question is Darnold going to get the majority of the reps in game two and will we see him with the starters unlike last week where he played with the players unlikely to make the practice squad...
We are inching closer to the season the question is, will they rush Sam D. to the big boy table even though there are two capable veteran options available and looking good doing so?
Week one we saw strong defense, solid offensive line play (starters) a running game that has promise but the passing attack seems to be the catalyst with all the receiving options available.
Continuity needs to continuing developing between starters and role players so they do not miss a beat in substitutions... We need to see more reps from Teddy Bridgewater along with the Rook... The running game, outside Bilal Powell needs to control the line of scrimmage so we can see more down the middle of the field passing to tight ends, since we still don't know who is going to take this job...
Defense someone needs to step up and take the edge responsibility...
Special teams looks like it will be a problem unless someone proves otherwise...

at least no for another 15 years or ao..
looking foward to seeing the kid getting a chance to make plays downfield against washington..
chances are, if the jets just don't get the kid hurt/completely mishandle him, i see us having something special here long term..they had a script, that each QB followed and because of Sam D's mobility, pocket presence and field vision he is less likely to get Sanchized... Meaning he has been taking reps with these players and he has to earn his bones by working up the ladder... I expect him to get more reps with the 2s and 3s improving his stock to eventually get some work with the 1s and 1bs...
this kid has plenty of potential but he isn't ready yet to be thrown to the wolves and if we start him day one of the season he will take his lumps early and often because the 1s and 1bs around the league will eat him up especially since we still don't have a true established offensive line to protect him all game every game of the season... would love to see Teddy get his shot at the start of this year, letting them work Darnold into the fold... McCown to me is that insurance policy, i understand he is a competitor but time to step aside...
Darnold playing with the 4s and 5s helps build his awareness and instinct to eventually improve to the point to feel the rush rather than see them... Sam like I said has good field vision able to look off defenders to find the open target but he is still adjusting to this speed and the ability of them veterans he is facing...

the kid is the most important player this franchise has drafted since namath.. i believe this regime should treat him as such..
norman going on & on about how much our kid already looks like a seasoned pro was ****ing epic!!no I get your point, but for him to take that next step to be that guy he needs to play shit competition, to build up his game so when he plays the real 1% talent of the league that he has experienced enough that he can handle everything that is thrown at him the good and the bad... we see he is a leader on the field and players are playing hard for him, this opens up us finding that additional star or game breaker that we would normally not find with say a McCown in mop up duty...
so far, Clive Walford has looked the best tight end option we have after Neal Sterling went down... Darnold also building chemistry with Walford which if both are starting season opener (or whenever we decide it is Sam D time) we have something (base game plan) to work with...
not to mention he is earning respect from defenders out there, including one loud mouth Josh Norman...

One thing I don’t like is they won’t allow or it doesn’t appear they want him to throw over 25 yards. Let the kid air it out once or twice.
