Exactly right, he's a safety with 10 extra pounds. We already have a thumper at safety. This guy is not the edge rusher we need, and he gets blocked out of plays. The only way this makes sense is if we play base dime.
With Treadwell and lynch available, I'd you're not going edge rusher, those guys would be good options. I hope mac knows something super duper secret.

Hate to get negative right away, but I think Mac might have just flushed our 1st rounder right down the toilet. This guy is a virtual unknown. NOBODY had him going to the Jets? I figure this guy would have been available in the 2nd round.
he was #13 on mcshay's final big board and #15 on kiper's. we picked him #20. how is that a reach?

you said he was a reach and a virtual unknown. that is incorrect. he was widely projected as a mid 1st rounder.
now questions on fit with the jets are legit. obviously bowles thinks he can work in his system. gonna have to trust the coach knows who fits his system
Its not a reach, Lee was ranked #9 in Daniel Jeremiah's TOP 50 and #15 on Gil Brandt's TOP 100, the problem is, he's a one dimensional 4-3 OLB and we play a base 3-4, and even if we switch to a base 4-3 (which Bowles refused to do last year even though drafting Williams made it a no brainer), he still likes to switch fronts, that makes Lee a part time player.
