Per several sources, Richardson gets a one-game suspension.
he was lucky alright.. not to have gotten himself locked up over endangering the life of a child.....He is lucky, but let's also remember he did already serve four games for basically the same situation.
I can hear the Pats fans now - "the Jet guy is caught speeding/evading police with a minor and weed in the vehicle and gets a slap on the wrist. My guy Tom is under-inflating footballs and gets four games plus Pats lose draft pick and cash. Goodell hates the greatness of Tom and the Pats."
In all seriousness, I hope the Richardson has learned his lesson and this is the end of the stupid behavior.
look, i hope the guy's is done acting a fool because he's a big time ballplayer (unlike the guy i believe you're alluding to) still on his rookie contract..He probably won't appeal, nor do I think he should. Unlike some people, Sheldon is man enough to accept responsibility.
So why is he being suspended again? He is lucky, but let's also remember he did already serve four games for basically the same situation.
I disagree, he paid his price last year and it was a heavy price, four games is no joke, give him back those four games and we probably win one more game, which means his suspension probably cost us the playoffs! He probably won't appeal, nor do I think he should. This is in no way double jeopardy. So I hope you know the difference and just think the nfl shouldn't punish anyone. So why is he being suspended again?
In the legal world this is called double jeopardy.
Last year he failed a3rd or 4th drug test, after knowing it was coming. If your boss have you 4 chances to pass a dig test, told you when they were coming, and you still failed, don't you think there would be consequences?I disagree, he paid his price last year and it was a heavy price, four games is no joke, give him back those four games and we probably win one more game, which means his suspension probably cost us the playoffs!
IMO its bulls*it to suspend him again for essentially the same thing. I hope he appeals.

In his case, there is a specific penalty system outlined for positive drug tests on the cba, agreed to by the players union. It is not discretionary, and the players agreed to it.
This is a separate case that is unrelated. He is extremely lucky he is an nfl player or he would have seen jail. Evading a cop, going over 120mph with a minor in the car, and most likely pot in the car. His hand gun was legal, but in my opinion was very sloppy. I believe in gun rights, but having a loaded gun loose under your seat is idiotic and dangerous. He's a multimillionaire, find a stable place to put your gun.

Honestly, I don't think the nfl should be punishing people for behavior outside of the "work place"Yes, there is a specific mandatory suspension for drugs, and he served it. But the two events basically coincided. The league did not add to his punishment last year, as they could have done, based on the traffic situation. They held out until this year.
As is, the only conviction for him was for resisting arrest. He plead down, and avoided charges for the alleged pot (which was not found, just a smell), the kid, and the weapon (which was legally owned - careless, but not suspension-worthy).
