Just don't over pay for Fitz. No way can the Jets think Fitz is worth a lot of money. I would rather play Petty or Geno for a few games before Petty takes over and save the money than pay Fitz $15-18M.
Agreed I hope the Jets don't overpay for Fitzpatrick. If they have to do exactly what you said, play Geno a few games and if he bombs and most likely he will. Hopefully Petty will be ready by midseason. Besides how long does a quarterback need before he is ready to play? Petty sat the entire year, if he's not ready to go by now to atleast play at an average level, then he's probably not the guy. There's also Kaepernick who already said he wanted to come to the Jets. Maybe to Jets should start looking towards his way because paying Fitzpatrick 20 million is just insane.
