AVT is really looking like a good draft pick. Joe D needs to get a bookend RG and/or C (Linderbaum from Iowa).

Certainly has the lineage, I trust you on this. Would love to see our two first rounders be an Edge and an IOL like the above.
no EDGE not needed

Carl Lawson comes back
and in FA Derek Barnett has links to Joe Douglas and would give us a dominating duo
along with re-signing John Franklin Myers also depth with Bryce Huff, not to mention restructuring Shaq Lawson's $9 M 2022 contract...

this team is looking brighter and brighter for the near future...

CJ Mosley proving he belongs, Quincy Williams was a sure fire hit... The rookie Linebackers will take the next step next year... Expect the team to sign one or two LBs in FA...

As for 1st round picks - at Center I like Matthews... if Cameron Clark is the guy at RG so be it has to be better than GVR... but drafting a RT in the first round seems to be a plan... I would drool if we got Evan Neal but he is a top 5 pick... Looking at the next two tackles (right):

Minnesota's Daniel Faalele 6'8" 379 ho hum late 1st rounder
Kentucky's Darian Kinnard 6'5" 342 actually fits the scheme better he trimmed down and is faster than he was last year... also considered late 1st early 2nd...

my only question to your analysis is...why take the chance on whether Cam Clark can change positions and develop into being the RG when you have enough draft capital to make the entire starting line comprised of 1st and 2nd round picks who are graded out as day 1 starters?

Huff is playing himself into a status beyond just depth - kid brings the pressure.

He already converted to Right Guard this off season and was leading to start over GVR then got hurt with that spinal stinger and for precautions they put him on short term IR to allow him to heal properly... He is available to return after Falcons game which is the bye week and the way GVR has been playing and his outspoken nature they might want to bring him back asap

As for draft picks I have 4 potential RT that grade out 1-2 round
As for centers there are 5 that fit 4 that the team has scouted to this point

he could be like CJ Mosley after this year he could lose 20 pounds and because literally he is the fastest front 7 player we have he convert to linebacker in this 4-3 defense?

Just saying there are options and when he played OLB in the 3-4 last year he did well not great but well in coverage so he could be that guy...

I think the trio of Huff, Quincy & Mosley as starters
Nasirildeen, Sherwood as role players would benefit this team much more than we have it set now...

just another thing we all know JFM is good, but he is better suited inside rather on the end -- now re-signing is key but if he walks and gets a huge contract elsewhere and the possibility is likely we will get a comp pick for him...

get Lawson healthy, sign Barnett try to keep JFM move him inside with Q...
Nathan Sheperd yesterday probably played himself out of a new contract with those 3 penalties...
Re-Signing Foley is a must... Rankins might get another one year deal and we have the rookie...

this line is stacked now imagine what it could be?

I think the rookie (Marshall) has a chance to be pretty good, and next year we see him step up to a meaningful role. Yeah, and Barnett would be a nice signing.

i can't wait to see him spell GVR after the Falcons game.
Trader Joe made a lot of picks in the 4th and later in his drafts for us; this is the year to see just how many are legit starters.
if Cam Clark is it at RG, then that opens the door to other needs to get addressed...maybe a shiny new toy too!

There NEEDS to be an upgrade on Van Roten. I wanted to give him a chance, especially because I always like seeing local kids get to come home to the Jets. But between his mouth and his poor play, he has to go.

McGovern needs to be upgraded, too. I thought this was an excellent signing. I don't know what happened to the player the Jets signed. He has taken some major steps back, and I have not seen any injury evidence to account for it. He's also too young to be past his prime. He is a massive enigma, and I'd prefer long-term stability at C over what he has given us.

you have to wonder come bye week will they make a change

Chuma Edoga can play all 5 positions will they attempt to see if he fits in the rotation...
We know Mekhi Becton won't be back until week 10 ish...
Will Cameron Clark come off IR and can he take the job from GVR...
They still have James Murry on the practice squad he can play both center or guard...
Parker Ferguson a rookie free agent on the injured reserve for what I don't know is he close to being healthy and can compete?
Do they make a trade for a veteran on an expiring contract to come in and contribute?

Scouts have been focusing on these two positions hard:
Center (4) top guys
  • Alec Lindstrom BC
  • Dawson Deaton Texas Tech
  • Luke Matthews A&M
  • Nic Ford Utah
Right Tackle (5) top guys

  • Evan Neal Bama
  • Daniel Faalele Minnesota
  • Darian Kinnard UK
  • Matt Waletzko North Dakota
  • Abraham Lucas Washington State
