What gets me is that the Patriots CONSTANTLY dump on the league. They deny, obfuscate, refuse to cooperate, demand apologies, and cry about how the league has it out for them, and the league CONTINUES to have their backs.
Happened with Spygate, when the league destroyed evidence it found after issuing penalties, but not increasing the penalties.
Happened with the injury report business, when they have never been punished for blatant disregard while other teams are punished for minor violations.
Happened with the tripping incidents, where Belichick got nothing from either the team or the league for trying to trip Marvin Harrison during a play, while the Jets got punished AFTER firing Sal Alosi.
Happened with tampering charges, where the Pats got off while other teams got punished.
And it's happening here, where ignorance was insufficient to keep Sean Payton from getting suspended for a whole year, while Belichick got nothing because he was ignorant of the whole situation.
Even now, the Pats put out a statement that they would accept whatever findings the league had. And here they are, talking about appealing the findings. How many times can one team piss all over the league, only to have the league keep having their backs? I hate using this analogy, but it's like a bad romantic relationship. The Pats keep mistreating the league, and the league keeps enabling them to do so.
