Probably true, but, on the other hand if he turned this group around and made them big winners , and I think he could, he'd be a Superman Coach. I could live with that.

Whatever coach turns the Jets into a winner will be a hero. Hell Rex Ryan might be coming back and he is the closest to that hero the Jets have had.

Sometimes I hate agreeing with you Tony....................but it is what it is.
Has anyone besides me taken exception to Ulbrich saying every time they lose that the team didn't play up to their standards ? What the hell is their standard ? From where I sit it appears that their standard is not very high. The "O" line still can't protect the QB and give him time to operate. Of course the QB is not as fast or athletic or as accurate as he used to be so I guess that's their excuse. I guess a lame excuse is better than no excuse. They still can't open lanes for their RBs. They expect them to do all the work. The defense keeps going downhill, although that ONE goal line stand was impressive. It was the only impressive play they exhibited. They still can't stop the run. Lets not even count the stupid yards lost because of penalties. This is the standard of play I've seen for the last 9 or 10 weeks. What standard is Ulbrich talking about ? Am I the only one too blind to see it ? I just had my eyes fixed so I'm puzzled as to why I can't see the standard he sees.
I think they have played exactly to their standard.
It's just boilerplate, intended to give a response to media as he is obliged to do without actually conveying any information. You don't expect him to say we can't fix things this season and it is as good as it's going to get.
Why not ....instead of the games we will broadcast reruns of Heidi
I expect at least an attempt at honesty. He could say something like.........Yeah we are definitely not getting it done. We are trying to figure it out but so far the solution has avoided us. We aren't giving up because we know the fans are getting impatient and justifiably so. All we can say in our defense is that we are trying to figure it out.............I prefer the truth instead of a column of smoke.
