Seven...SEVEN...Jets cuts picked up by other teams.
I have been thinking this for a while. If you look at how the Jets played in the later parts of preseason games, our 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths against other teams' 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths, the Jets handled those other teams.
Combine that with the fact that the Jets had SEVEN guys they waived get claimed by other teams, while the Jets made no waiver claims, and both of these point to the same thing. The Jets, right now, have a GREAT talent evaluation process in place. The guys at the top of the draft are pretty much universally known (aside from the Pats taking guys like Cole Strange in the first). But look later in the draft and in undrafted free agent pickups. The Jets had 7 players in camp who weren't good enough to make the Jets, but made other rosters. AND the Jets beat other NFL teams in the second half of the preseason.
The Jets have depth because the scouting on the back end right now is doing a sensational job.

I noticed the waiver claims, too. Seven today and eleven total. I’m sensing a shift in this organization. Particularly in the scouting department. Long overdue.
The depth is starting to develop. There are good players right now not making the Jets roster. That used to never happen.

John Harbaugh has won roughly 22 straight preseason games..........if nothing else it shows he has tremendous talent depth and he sees no issue with that talent trying to win. Maybe we are seeing the fruits of Joe D learning under HOF Ozzie Newsome on how to build sustainable rosters.
We lead the NFL in that category for the pre-season. Last season we had guys on our roster who shouldn't be playing in the NFL. Now if only we had a franchise QB.

I hope that’s what it means, cause I was thinking we might be better off starting our 3rd and 4th stringers cause they were winners and benching our starters cause they were losers
