Should They Trade Sheldon Richardson?

If the call is between playing Richardson at LB or trading him, I'd deal him.

Agreed, if we're not going with a base four man front, might as well trade him, provided we get fair value.

IMO fair value means nothing less than a first round pick, and he's worth more if not for the baggage, but there is the baggage and you can't just ignore it, so I'll settle for a 1, but I'm not taking less.

Not sure he is worth a 1st round pick either. When was the last time Sheldon changed a game?? You can get almost any fat guy to tackle RB's. He is just not a game changer just like Mo is not either. He has 1.5 sacks. Nobody is trading a #1 for that kind of production. Plus he is one strike away from a long suspension. And he is too stupid to stay clean. Get what you can now.

Anyway, Sheldon is a penetrating 4-3 D-Tackle, maybe a 4-3 rush end. Put him in either role and he'll get double digit sacks in his sleep. Believe me, GM's and HC's know this. Any team with a base 4-3 would kill to have this player.

That may be true, but he is still not worth a #1. He is a loose cannon and won't sign for less than the highest paid. Both those things knock him down to a 3rd round pick at best. And I would jump on that.

He played 3-4 under rex, Bowles has used a lot of both fronts. 3-4 and 4-3

We wouldn't builds a team around him, but I believe his contract is short term, and he would be a giant upgrade at the most important position with a cake walk schedule.

And this team is just not very good. We are not Romo away from making a run. Our D sucks. Our OL sucks. Jeffery would be nice, but we need to be trading for draft picks not other teams trash.
