At the rate things are going it could very well come to that. If the Jets select Wilson and no teams are willing to take Sam off our hands for at least a reasonable price we'd be stuck with him at least short term.

I don't know what's available in next years Draft at QB, but with one or two trade downs we could easily get 2 additional #1 picks and something more ( 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, etc ) in next years Draft. This is ammo enough to trade up for a QB if Darnold fails. We would also add 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, etc to this years draft picks. With 2 #1's this year and maybe 3 #2's we can begin the process of building this team up. 3rd, 4th,& 5th Rd picks can be put to good use if we wanted to trade back into the 1st or 2nd Rd.

Fields killed it today. JD’s decision just got a lot harder. The only difference I see is that Wilson may have a slightly better arm and timing is a bit better. Not sure which is a better leader..... but both are probably better leaders than Darnold. 49ers may have screwed themselves by missing it and going to see Jones, who I hear was ok, but not great
why is it harder today. There are three choices only......just take the one you don't think will be the best & we have our QB

I’m really nervous about is that Zach Wilson pick and it’s pretty obvious that they are going to draft him. I would rather they trade down a couple of spots and draft Justin Fields, if it all possible but who knows, Fields may turn out to be average at best and Wilson maybe an all-time great Hall of Famer. Then again it could very well be the opposite and the Jets will be left with egg on their faces just like they did when they drafted O’Brien over Marino.
Draft Wilson. Then trade up for fields. Now with the d man we have a 10% chance of getting it right

Look the more the better of getting it right,.....when we drafted Namath we also drafted another top QB.......it is that important
The Heisman wnner in R2 (Huart), plus an all-american in the 4th round (Schweikert) and a local star from Columbia (Roberts) who sat on the taxi squad for two years and went on to a long career ... as a heart surgeon
BTW: Huart was consensus AA, Schweikert AP-2 and FWAA, and Craig Morton and Roger Staubach also mentioned, Namath? Not at all
