Throw in Mack and I do it in a heartbeat...Mack was one of my top 3 favorite players from last year's draft.
yeah i would def do that
Mack and a likely top 10 pick next year?
The Raiders would need to be drug tested if they agreed to that deal. Mo's good, but he's not getting traded for that kind of return.
Let's get back to the original idea...Mo for their #1 straight up. Seems to me both teams would benefit. The Raiders D could use the help and the Jets could potentially get their franchise QB or help on the O-line.
A lot depends on whether the Raiders think they will compete this year or not. If they don't, they won't do it. If they do, they will, as Mo helps them compete and it will more likely be a later first.
I think if you have really good players, you keep them. My personal opinion is the Jets should resign Wilkerson. I get that we drafted Williams, but having this kind of depth on the d-line gives this defense the chance to be dominant for years to come. We're not paying big $ for a QB, so we can afford to keep him. He's one of the best 3-4 DEs in football, you keep guys like that.

I agree. And you can control him for the next three years without giving him a new contract. This year, as the last year of his contract, and two tagged years. The Jets are under no obligation to cave to his demands right now. It's a part of the process playing out.
last time we did this type of trade with Oakland, we got Mike Nugent, Doug Jolley, and a pile of heartburn. They owe us one.
Agreed, but I think short term and long term cap hits would be better if we locked him up and next year's cap situation becomes more tolerable if this deal gets done sooner than next year at this time, you know? We dont want Mo with a $15 mill cap number on the next two caps, IMO.
