Geno Smith===Ryan Leaf :Banane56:
Time to move on
Either you never saw Ryan Leaf play or you don't understand the first thing about football. On his worst day Geno was still way better than Ryan Leaf ever was.

Time to move on
if petty plays well tomorrow night my guess is he takes the 2nd spot on the depth chart from smith..That's just plain silly, lounap. You do understand that having a great #1 WR like Marshall takes defensive attention away from Decker and makes it easier for him to put up numbers, right? And again, Decker was hobbled by a hamstring injury for practically the entire 2014 season, or he would have had even better numbers with Geno!
Lol, why do I have to be trying to prove something? I am merely expressing my opinion, which, since it disagrees with yours, prompts you to be insulting and obnoxious. That's fine, I don't know you from a hole in the wall and could care less what you think or say, notwithstanding the fact that on the whole, I prefer civil, intelligent discourse to your brand of arrogant, irrational pap. And there is the added benefit of the entertainment value of you twisting every development to fit your know-it-all opinions.
As Charlie Casserly said, the Jets HAVE to give Petty as many reps as they can to be sure that it is worth their while to keep four QBs - not because he is competing with Geno at this stage. Is it possible that Petty shines through so brightly that the Jets reconsider? Sure, that is possible although improbable, given his complete lack of any NFL game experience whatsoever. And btw, I am pretty sure that Geno's "they make it up" tweet was referring to this - the media acting as though the CS giving extra reps to Petty was an indication that he was competing with Geno, despite Bowles stating clearly that that was not the case, and not understanding that the Jets simply need to see as much of Petty as they can before making the key roster decisions.
Btw, Geno had one season with Decker, 2014, during which Decker battled a hamstring problem almost the entire season. Despite that, and despite Decker being Geno's only real weapon so that opposing teams knew they just had to focus on taking Decker away... Despite all that, Decker had only SIX fewer catches and 65 fewer receiving yards in 2014 than he had in the 2015 season! So you reveal what an oblivious farce you are when you make demonstrably false claims like saying that Geno created zero chemistry with Decker, when a hobbled Decker in 2014 had essentially as good a year with Geno as a healthy Decker had in 2015 with Fitz.[/QUOTE]
Classic Geno apologist post....... All Geno had to do was show something, anything to give an indication that he was deserving of more time. He never showed a thing. On top of all of that, he proved he was a JERK. So all in all, he proved nothing on the football field, but he did prove to the fan base that he was a jerk.
Nice way to ignore the point. YOU claimed that Geno never established any chemistry with Decker in 2014 and I proved with straightforward statistics that you were absolutely, demonstrably, wrong. That was the only point of that paragraph, so your typical anti-Geno rant in response which completely ignores the whole Geno-Decker issue, is a solid example of the irrational pap to which I referred, as is your "classic Geno apologist post" remark. I wasn't being an apologist, I was disproving your claim that Geno established no chemistry with Decker. Instead of showing at least a little bit of class and acknowledging that Geno-Decker had more success in 2014 than you realized, you just reverted to off-topic Geno bashing, which is what you always do.

Please point out to me where it is I am being insulting and obnoxious anywhere in my post?

but there's competition for the job, so what the hell do i know?? aside from understanding how to read between the lines.....
Just this post, or your entire history posting on this board?
For the life of me I don't get how anyone defends Geno
I've sat in my seats and have seen every starting Qb for the Jets since 71' and I'd like anybody to tell me who they disliked more than Geno
He not only sucks but he's a Dick
Please tell me

Now Geno and Blindside can go and sulk in the corner together...........
not cool MJ. Let's not make this more than a QB debate, pls
They need to cut Geno so Petty can have his reps. If Fitz goes down I want see youth and not another throw from Geno. I'm watching Dak Prescott throwing 90% completion with 4 TD's and 1 rush TD in two weeks. I sure hope Petty is our QB next year. Of course Dallas has a much better OL and that really helps, but I want a short leash on Fitz and at most one year.
I would love to see him get some time with the #1 offensive line, behind a line that can pass block. We cannot cut Petty. If he continues to develop as he did from year 1 to year 2, then he may very well turn into starter material. I am crossing my fingers

He looks good despite being under siege, imagine how much better he might look if you give him some time in the pocket.
Does this mean you will NOT be drafting Geno in our fantasy league? :global (21):But we can cut Geno!!
