why didn't bowles go for two after we went up by 12 late in the 4th quarter?? LOLz i feel very safe in saying if we lost last night, say 38-37?? this would have been a topic of great interest.....

The clock and knowing the the Bills only had 2 TO's dictated not to go for two..... The team actually executed exactly the way Bowles was thinking.... Give the Bills the ball let them take time off the clock driving down the field.... Get the ball back and get a first down game is over.... or punt away after a 3 and out and Bills have to drive the length of the field with about 20 seconds on the clock.. Turned out to be 14 seconds... That was calculated... At least thats what I was thinking when my buddy said hey why isn't Bowles going for 2 and that's what I explained

O, i appreciate your take but honestly after he got called on it, how the hell else could he have carry it, aside from with "hat in hand" humility??

He said he got distracted on the sideline - not a great excuse, but as long as he learns from it and it doesn't happen again, what more can you do? You have to expect growing pains when you hire a first time head coach, but I'd rather have Bowles than most of the retreads.

Well I guess I shouldn't be an NFL HC... Like I said I wouldn't have gone for 2 either. I used my mathematician skills to know the odds of the Bills scoring with 20 seconds on the clock and having to go over 65yds was well in our favor....

I'll stick to Math... guess we should have went for 2 based on the comments you guys posted from Bowles

A far as coaching goes, I was upset when the Jets had the fourth and one inside the 15 yard line, in the 1st quarter.After the failed third down attempt, instead of rushing up to the line and at least simulate you're going for it and maybe make them jump offsides, the jets just calmly switched to their feildgoal unit and kicked the feildgoal. Even if they got a delay of game penalty, the kick would've still been shorter than an extrapoint kick. The discipline of a Rex Ryan team makes me think somebody is going to jump offsides, first and goal.

BIG MISTAKE and today Bowles admitted it, which is good because it proves it was just an oversight.

That said, its always better to learn this kind of lesson in a win than to learn it the hard way, with a loss.

I think its safe to say Bowles will be a lot more aware of these situations moving forward.

i firmly believe the jury is still out on what kind of head coach bowles will end up being..

i've been somewhat critical but i still think it's fair to say, bowles has shown us us enough to at least hold out hope he's our long term answer..

The guy's been coaching defense his whole life -- there's NO WAY his first instinct wasn't to figure out how to protect a two-score lead, not how to turn 13 into 14 points.

Is that excusable? Of course not. He has to grow as a HEAD coach or he won't be one for long. Having said that, I don't think his miscue was near as critical as the alternative of our vaunted D giving up 2 late TDs . . .
