Well its no surprise in OTA's that Christian Hackenberg is throwing wobbly passes 10 feet over WR's heads just like he did in College & try outs. This was a very bad pick & a wasted pick IMO. Not smart drafting a guy based off Freshman season in first 2 rounds & had to know he is 3-4 years from even remote chance to play. If Texans thought this guy was great talent & could make him the franchise QB in 3 years, they would have Drafted him. I don't like wasting 1 first 2 picks in the Draft when we needed help else where.

I don't think you're wrong, but I hope you are. Hopefully the Texans didn't draft him because of the insane contract they dealt out

...and Geno.
From Albert Breer:

While there is some feeling inside the Jets that they could get by with Geno Smith, many outside of the organization are skeptical. “I think they’ll struggle if [Geno is] the guy,” one rival defensive coach told Breer. “

I get it, but I'd still like to find out what he can do with all of the weapons we now have in Gailey's offense. I listened to his recent interview, and he just sounds different. Maybe the punch in the mouth woke him up, maybe he is just growing up. I have no clue, but I would still like to see him in some live game action.

I know you're just quoting a source, but who really cares what "many outside the organization" think?

For better or worse, we have to trust that the guys in charge know what they're doing. If they're competent, they'll make a decision that betters the team. If not, we'll be starting from scratch (again) real soon.

Personally, I just keep going back to the thought "how much worse could he be than Sanchez?" Of course I'd love to set a higher bar for the kid, but haven't we already seen how far we can go with barely competent QB play? Add in the assumption that Gailey could get more out of Geno than Schotty/MM/Sparano did out of Sanchez, and I'm willing to take a "wait and see" approach instead of the automatic assumption of failure that drives so many here . . .

There is alot of reason for optimism for the present and also the immediate futre.

It looks very bright folks. I like how this regime is planning forward.
