The Never-ending Geno debate

We'll put and understood, LOL. Not quite sure why the other poster didn't get it but I did. As someone who was a huge Geno supporter until this jawbreak gate BS, I was either blinded by what I'd hoped he be this year. Or wisely and cautiously optimistic by what I thought he could be with better weapons around him and another year of experience under his belt. With some hopeful maturity and leadership growth. Well how wrong was I about that and jawbreak gate proved that to me.

I then knew I had to be done with him and it was time to focus on Petty. Not saying that was your situation but it was mine. Anyway, Geno has alot of growing to do mentally before anyone will even remotely believe in him. As for his talent, he may or may not have gotten better and can only prove it "IF" he ever gets on the field again. As a Jet, I don't think he ever will. Fitz is playing well enough now to keep his job and when he is done for whatever reason, I believe the coaches will want to see what Petty has because they are done with Geno. IMHO!

In short.. I think the jawbreak gate did the same for me... I was never a super Geno supporter but I thought maybe with a better OC and better weapons we can see what he has.... Jawbreak clearly showed me he doesn't have the maturity or leadership to be an NFL QB.. And his first interview afterward proved he never will be.... IMO

Fact:

Nobody is changing anyone's mind about Geno Smith. Some believe he still has a chance to become a decent QB under ideal circumstances, and some believe he's not cut out for the NFL.

But please continue on with the endless Geno debate. It's slow around here on a bye week.

:smiley-violent029:

Lol. Sometimes it can be entertaining, other times not.

Agreed, Diddo, +1, 10-4 and Amen to that brother! Guess I truly fell for the ookie doke or whatever you want to call it. In hopes Geno was our guy and could turn it around this year. Boy was I wrong and jawbreak gate showed me that. Guess I'm truly just that hungry for a franchise QB as I'm sure all of us are. Oh well, onto the next one and hopefully Petty doesn't let us down like Geno and Sanchez did. We almost had it right with Pennington but injuries killed it for him.

LOL

That's the spirit. That's all we can do right now. Pray Petty is the guy a lot of people thought he was at the end of the 2013 season.

Not unreasonable. He does have all the tools, then some. He's in a great spot behind a smart QB like Fitz, and no anticipation of having huge pressure put on him.

He's got Gailey, who always seems to get the best out of mediocre QB's. Be great to see what he can do with a QB with talent. he knows his job. Be ready to compete next summer.

We'll have to stay tuned t see if he can do it.
