I think Macc will let the draft come to him. I think we stay at 20, and some other QB needy team like NO or the Bills will trade around to get Lynch. With only six picks, I'm feeling a trade back or two.
But that's what so interesting about this draft. I won't be surprised by anything. I consider both the Fitz and Wilkerson situations 50/50 toss ups regarding whether or not they'll be back with the Jets.

A 3rd round compensatory pick is NOTHING to be happy about when the guy leaving was a franchise DE. There is no benefit having Mo play for us this season under the tag. He's going to occupy approximately 15.7 million of our cap and we'll get NOTHING for him after the season is over, unless you think a 3rd round compensatory pick is something? I certainly don't. He's worth at least a high 2, probably a 1st if we're being honest.
Freeing up 15.7 million would do wonders for the team as a whole. Mac could sign all of the draftees with relative ease and probably go shopping for another FA. Right now is our last/best chance at getting all we can get for Mo.
who said anything about being happy, shit I like Wilkerson but hate these games so either the team forks over the money and gives him a long term contract or trade his sorry ass out of New York... keep him for this year which locks any chance of retaining Fitzpatrick I am all for it... but after this year

they can not agree on a long term extension and are not willing to franchise him for $20 M for 2017 then when he goes out in free agency the Jets aren't likely to replace Wilkerson with any talent equal or better than his value and would receive a compensatory selection at the highest of a 3rd round for him...
was one of those statements that at worst the compensation for a player of his stature would be that comp pick...
I hope Mac can score a 2nd round pick at the point. There is no real value and Mo is not going to turn around a team. He is not even close to being a game changer.

Gotta disagree with that statement. Just because he's not JJ Watt doesn't mean he isn't one of the best players on this defense. I guess the problem I have with that statement is the "not even close". That diminishes his impact.
I think he is a very good player, but I still don't think he is a game changer and he is surely not worth close to what he is asking. Definitely not worth what he is making on franchise tag. We need the money and he is expendable for us. Maybe on another team he would be more valuable.
Except Watt, can you please name the NFL defensive lineman who you consider game changers?
Probably none which shows how ridiculous his demands are and how replaceable he is. And we already have guys on the DL that can.
It might be a moot point. Latest reports are that the Jets haven't gotten much interest from teams. Nobody wants to pay that salary. Looks like Mo is staying.
