It's going to be good for the coaches to see petty practice in the number 2 spot. More reps are great for petty recovering from weeks out of the game.
I think Fitz is the right choice to start until the COACHES believe petty is prepared to try playing an nfl game. Increasing his reps will help the coaches make a judgement.
Fitz is a solid team player who could not overcome a brutal schedule and an injury to Decker.
What I saw at the game yesterday, was a very young group of receivers. Marshall is not winning 1 on 1 matchups in which there was no safety help. Enunwa was a bright spot, but didn't take over. Behind those 2 ate basically a bunch of raw kids.
I was hoping geno would have inspired this offense with crisper passing than Fitz. He also practiced the entire off season wroth these guys before Fitz signed. Geno then had the entire week to prep. He was slow at the line, held the ball forever, and literally stared at 1 player. I didn't see this offense run any differently under geno.
Coach believes we can make a run now that wr are out of the woods schedule wise. I'd expect Fitz annihilate the Browns. Not because it's a triumphant return, nor would it solidify him as the starter. But it keeps us moving forward as petty gets his reps in.
At that point id treat Fitz as the backup, in that, if he struggles petty goes in, if ready.
With the Browns, dolphins, and rams up next before the bye, there's a good chance petty could get his feet wet before the bye week. Hit the bye and take 2 weeks to prep for the pats. The less film belichick has on him, the better. As long as our porous o line doesn't get petty killed, it would be an ideal start to his career. Late in the year,no pressure to win.
