@jets82, we began our fandom at the same time. We experienced a few fun years to be a fan. I remember those feelings very well. One of my best friends( Dolphin season ticket holder) accurately told me I was going to have the most fun as a Jet fan
I'd ever had just prior to the 98 season. I was excited about giving Glenn Foley a shot to see if he had some magic. Chris said Vinny is going to be special with Martin and all of your receivers. He brought me to the Sunday night game in Miami. Can't wait to see what he says about Geno. I think we are in for something similar. FTR, I had same instinct in 2015 after Geno left and Fitz-magic happened. Let's see.
Once again my Jets friend, from your lips to God’s ears. I’ll admit, I have no faith in Geno and I don’t even want him to be our answer. Even if for a year or two or three. I want that 21-23 yr old rookie to be our franchise guy for the next 15-20 years. To help bring us a few Super-bowls.

Even better would be the type of situation we got this year with Klubnik. A 4th, 5th round pick or worse that nobody expects anything from but he becomes our diamond in the ruff player. Other teams have been fortunate enough to have this happen to them, why not us???

Yes, drafting a 1st round QB that does this for us would be great also but Klubnik appears to have to tools to provide us this. So why not him, why not now, why not us? Imagine being able to use all these draft picks over the next 15-30 on BPA or other needs, that is not a QB? What a gift that would be.

Our Jets fandom appears to have started around the same time and I remember the few moments of glory days we had also. Especially the 1998 AFC Championship team that I honestly felt could beat anyone. 2009-2010, I didn’t believe in really but of course I was there for the ride.

Funny... I had no faith in 09 or 10 teams, but I thought 98 could play against anyone too. I agree with my FSU buddy. I would like to see CK too. As you mentioned, Our draft is all about BPA along with cap space can load a team. Let's F'ing go!!!!!! why not us? why can't he play 3.34 yard games of catch with our receivers and backs like Brady did? why not?

Unfortunately, we don't find that out unless 26 is another dud of a season. Here's a story... Geno gives us a 98 year for the ages. He gets injured in a playoff game. CK comes off the bench in a close game. dinks and dunks and hands off to Breece Lightening. we win on a td pass that is more accurately described as a Tom Brady Special 3 yard hand off just over the LOS. he's an instant franchise QB. we get best of both worlds and the 27 draft is BPA all freaking day!!!!

Do you think Klubnik coming in a playoff game and leading the Jets to a victory will be enough to prove he’s our franchise QB? If that’s the first game he’s plays in all year long, I would think they would need to see more. More like him winning the next playoff game, with legit stats and making legit passes under true pressure most of the game. If he does that, the Jets will believe it then. We all will!

Trust me when I tell you, I don’t see it panning out AT ALL as the Jets being a playoff team. Or even close to it with either quarterback this year. I’m happy with the Jets winning about 6-8 games and Klubnik being a part of most, if not all of those games. Obviously the losses won’t be nice but if most of them are tight losses and Klubnik is a part of those also, I think that he proves then that he is a franchise guy.

OK, I like the plot twist. He starts the next and grinds out a win; and sticking to the Brady motif, he has Geno chart for him like Bledsoe did for TB. Is he a bust if he doesn't win the last game of the season?

Just have to agree to disagree. I think we have too much fire power at skill positions to not be a contender. If Sweat and the Biggies on the D-line can stop the run, we'll be solid on D too. But I'll adopt your philosophy to go straight to CK. why not? we'll all be here next year. It's not as if the Org cares if we are starved to win. they know our loyalty.
Let's get a great look at him. I just see the trenches being units that can win games. Don't ask him to throw it 40 times each week. 40 handoffs is more like it. complete 3rd and less than 5 all afternoon. FTM, I'd want Geno doing that too. so why not play Cade right away?

It would be a dream to see the Jets playing Cade ASAP, like first game of the season, but will he be ready for that? MOST LIKELY NOT and being that the Jets seems to be dead set on starting Geno, the job is his no matter what he does. Plus, Geno pretty much is having a great training camp as far as reports say. So yes he’ll be the day one starter and rightfully so.

I just believe Cade will get his start this year, like early in the year due to an injury to Geno or his typical poor play. If Geno proves me wrong then so be it but I have to see it to believe it. Now you saying that the offensive and defensive line can be strong enough to really push this team to some wins, I can get with. That will help either QB out in the long run, no doubt!

Your take is so on the money!!! all that draft cap dedicated to BPA could be our version of the Redskin draft of 82 or the Cowboys of 90 instead of

EXACTLY! That’s what I’m talking about and Klubnik panning out this year for us is the KEY! If he does, then the Jets will be golden for years to come. Of course he has to stay healthy but any QB would have to that as well. If Klubnik flakes then we are back to square one next year, looking for a QB and that is the main key to any football team. If you don’t have a QB, you ain’t got nothing!!!
