Temple's Robby Anderson is 6'3" and ran a 4.34 40 at his Pro Day.

Between he and the 7th rounder from Clemson we might get lucky with one of the two prospects.

From NFL.com:

OVERVIEW

Anderson had 70 receptions for 939 yards and seven touchdowns in 2015. During the 2014 season, he had 44 receptions for 791 yards and nine touchdowns.

PRO DAY RESULTS

40-yard dash: 4.34 seconds
Vertical: 36 1/2 inches
Broad jump: 10 feet, 8 inches
Short shuttle: 4.28 seconds
3-cone: 7.07 seconds
Bench: 8 reps of 225 pounds

STRENGTHS

Has tremendous bounce to climb the ladder and snatch the pass at its high point. Has excellent balance and body control to make the circus catch. Plays faster than his timed speed and has decent short area quickness. Well-liked by coaching staff and considered a good teammate. Showed ability to get some separation during Shrine Game practices.

WEAKNESSES

Rail-thin frame. Missed 2014 season after being suspended for academic purposes and elements of his game fell off in 2015. No such things as easy catches. Able to make the circus catch, but struggled badly with focus drops. Average long speed and getting deep on double moves and through play*-action.

DRAFT PROJECTION

Rounds 6 or 7

BOTTOM LINE

Tall, but rail thin with a 2015 season that featured Anderson's ability to make the incredible catch sandwiched with way too many drops. His separation quickness and overall speed doesn't jump off the tape, so he needs an impressive combine.

Can't help but wonder if they are going to let Hackett do the rugby style kick on the run for a punt. Kid can really put it where he wants it and let it roll

I'm really excited about two powerful leg Aussies competing in camp. Its been a long time since I've felt like the Jets can start a season with the kind of Punter who can tilt the field and kick you out of trouble, but I feel like both of these kids have that kind of leg. Let the battle begin and may the best man win. BTW both of these Punters were in the TOP 3 of CBS's rankings, the other being Drew Kaser (Texas A&M) who went in the 5th RD. Those were their only three "draftable" Punters on their list and we have two of them in camp.

While I won't pretend to know how to scheme ST coverages, can you imagine what the extra 1-2 seconds would do in helping our players get down the field?

It almost seems TOO beneficial, which makes me think there's a reason it won't work (or someone would be doing it already). Of course, that might just be my SOJF kicking in . . .

The reason you don't see it in the NFL now, is change comes very slowly in the NFL. Hc's are afraid if punters try to kick in the rugby style, miss the kick is a turnover at the LOS.

More and more of these Aussie style kickers are appearing in the NCAA. Very tough to defend. There is also the possibilities that when the punter is running before the rugby kick, on a 4th and 1 or 2 , that he just keep on running for a big first down. Teams can't set up proper punt return protection because they have to defend against the run, plus they don't even know where to ball is going when it is kicked. It's not a towering high kick like the traditional punters use, it's a line drive that travels about 8 yards off the ground, and away from the returner.

Eventually some HC will get over his fear and allow one of these rugby kickers to put the tradition punter out of business the way the soccer kickers did to the traditional straight on field goal kickers.

BTW, the Jets now have TWO Aussie punters on the team. Hackett is the more athletic, and can run, I hope Bowles has the nuts to let him do his stuff.

NFL -- Is the Big Apple big enough for two Beckhams? New York will find out soon enough. Terron Beckham, the cousin of New York Giants star Odell Beckham, was offered a tryout next weekend at the New York Jets' rookie minicamp, but not a contract ... yet.

"I had a good indication from the Jets prior to the draft and we communicated several times today," Beckham's agent, Mike Celli, told College Football 24/7 Thursday night after the completion of the 2016 NFL Draft. From that tryout, Beckham will hope to garner a free-agent contract with the club.

According to Celli, the Jets were one of seven NFL clubs that put Beckham through a private workout following a spectacular pro day workout that drew plenty of scouting attention.

Beckham's path to the NFL has been a highly unusual one. The 5-11, 230-pound running back hasn't played football since high school, after which he became a personal trainer and a fitness model. At age 23, he's now trying to renew his football career on the strength of some spectacular workout numbers, including a reported 45-inch vertical jump and 4.5 speed.

Terron had some fun with his label as "Odell's cousin" during the draft.

I really hope he makes the team as I'm sure we all are. Obviously he has the physical tools but does he have it mentally? Can he learn the play book, schemes and blocking assignment? Pass coverages, hot routes, aubiles and reading defenses etc-etc.. Most of all, is his heart into being a football player and giving it his all or is this just a temporary part time let me see if I got still type thing? If this is foreal, this kid could be our diamond in the ruff. That RB that can be our eventually starter and bell cow. Forte is up there in age and can't see him doing it like he used to, Powell is a excellent change of pace and third down back and any other RB may have isn't really worth talking about. So this kid may be what we need in the running game. If he can be what Odell is as a RB, we got something real special here Jets faithful.

Not to toot my own horn, but I knew that from the beginning,

thats why I projected Thomas making the 53 in my early roster projections.

We didn't resign Douzable or Bowen, so the door is wide open for Thomas as a forth 3-4 DE

I have us carrying four DE's and two NT's, which is normal, and he has nobody of note to beat for that forth DE spot.
