I would probably be interested to pull off a couple moves like last year to acquire Denzel Mims in the second while picking up an additional third round while moving back from 34th... Maybe around 50th - 54th to land Meinerz that is just me...

With that then gives JD time to shop McGovern for a 3rd, Pittsburgh or any of the other 7 teams without a starting caliber center...

I don't know about trading McGovern. I am not a fan of him. but did not Douglas give him a new $ 8 mil contract. I would love to dump him. I don't see us getting any higher then a 5th for him Would like to draft a Cemter in Rd #2.

he signed a 3 year deal but if traded (post june 1) trade it would have a dead loss of $2.66 M but savings $17 M

Anyone else feel this should not be a priority? With a well constructed O line.... I feel Johnson, Adams and Perine will be fine. Dont want to waste premium capital or cap space on another Levon..... Johnson reminds me of Lindsay in Denver, and Adams reminds me of Blount. To me, Perine seems like the depth piece here .....

I cringe when I see so called draft experts mocking Travis Etienne to us at 23. To me that is a massive waste of draft capital. Nothing against Etienne, just feel RB at 23 is a luxury we cannot afford.

Etienne will go 32 to the Bucs, good athlete but not a need...

nice @Old#15 but pff hasn't updated their big board to the mock simulator

Quinn Meinerz will go in the 60s
Tylan Wallace will go in the 50s
and so forth

This fills in a lot of Jets needs with some name players, but where's the desperately needed pass rusher?
I mean a GOOD pass rusher?
But it ain't happening.
Wilson wouldn't fall past #4.
And what gmf said.
Nice try, though.

I figured as much on both of those guys. The trade feature is nice and fun. My thinking when I traded out of #2 that we'd roll with Sam until Wilson became available. The idea was to surround Sam with some weapons and protection and I felt I accomplished that with three explosive skill guys and the two quality OL. With the Wilson pick, we now had the opportunity to deal Sam for extra draft ammo. Plus, with the 3 #1's for next year we could either trade up or continue stockpiling talent on both sides of the ball. That's a lot rebuilding with potentially quality young talent in two short years. Sprinkle in a couple of young FAs and you should be close to a decent roster. Then its all about coaching 'em up. The offseason is fun like this.

May have to wait til next year in the draft for the edge guy, but grab one in FA this year to fill immediate need.

when I did pff mock about a month ago traded down to 6 Eagles got 1st 2nd 3rd this year plus 1st & 3rd next year
then traded down once more to 12 9ers got 1st and 2nd this year and next year

at 12 is where Slater is ranked still
23rd always changed frequently but taking Freiermuth always got me a A- rating
Mac Jones is ranked 33 so taking him at 34 made sense like Wentz and Hurts situation
after 34th pick it always changed on who was available at our next pick

I probably short-changed us on the draft compensation. Is Vera-Tucker comparable to Slater, maybe a 1a version?

Normally I find mocks to be just that... mocks. Before, the Combine answered many questions.
This year no Combine, many hunches with each team having the same respective disadvantages.

With each passing day, I'm becoming more decisive (whatever it's worth) to wish for Zach to be our pick at #2.
The price tag for Deshaun will not fill other holes, and once again, as good as he is , he won 4 games with some talent on their roster. Additionally, we would get something for Sam , plus our cap money and the number of picks we have.
JD do your thing!

At this point Watson is my 3rd choice at QB because of what it will cost. Wilson is my 1st choice at QB. Or trade down get more picks and draft Mac Jones. I'm also reluctantly ok with running it back with Sam, but only if we can trade down for many more picks.

I am OKay with another season and new regime and Sam. Trading back with either Philly or Carolina and acquire more picks. Not sure about what we could get back in picks by trading with S.F. Not sold on Wilson or Watson. Don't want to trade away the Draft to acquire Watson.
