The Jags are doing what the Jets used to do. They are trying to spend their way to legitimacy without having built up the foundation first. Tons of HUGE contracts coming out of Jax.
they actually have a lot of already steady draft contracts of players they drafted to this point and have another 12 this year which I don't expect them to draft 12 prospects but signing these free agents should bring in the veteran talent to glue the roster together.
what the Jets used to do is buy wins but the talent wasn't bringing in that built chemistry which took time to build.
My preference on spending the way they are is to do it a year or two after you have had a big crop of draft picks come in. That's when they are all maturing, and you can make a legitimate run. Now you're going to have veterans who want to win now in the same locker room with rookies who can't even find the cafeteria.

All of the old drama with the Jets, with coaches, with all kinds of stuff and bold, albeit unwise, moves being made? I see ALL of that in Jax right now. They are the new Jets.
well looking at their roster they have some ample young stars
they added some key players to bolster those stars and give them better chances on success
instances adding Foley a pure nose tackle to a team that is running a 3-4 Todd Bowles defense where Fatukasi thrives in
