Jets D Line will prominently be a Wide 9 front. What this means is our Defensive Ends play outside shoulder of the tight end. This takes away or limits screens. Saleh loves converting safeties into linebackers so they can play the under coverage to limit the shallow cross and slant routes. Trying to understand his defense is complex in nature but breaking down each position group to better understand what this defenses potential could be, should make you not fear teams like the Bills or the Dolphins.
CJ Mosley is key, but the coverage surrounding him is also key. Mosley not a bad cover guy but he is an excellent run defender. Fix the four up front, another year of experience for the linebacker core. We signed one of the best run defending safeties in Jordan Whitehead and we got a versatile young and up n coming corner in Reed that will make the tackle in open space kind of like Bryce Hall against the run.
In the end it starts up front, then the roles for each other position group can then be defined and coached up.
