Petty won't be forced into action, they feel good about his progression and if they need too they can reduce the game plan to his comfort while maximizing his ability as he develops under center...

If Petty is not the answer right now, they guess what he never will be...

Geno Smith is garbage, self-proclaimed super star but can't seem to get out of his own way...

Yes the free agency class may be limited, but who knows the Jets could make a run at Osweiler, RG3 or trade for Mike Glennon or even Ryan Nassib who I wished would of been drafted instead of Geno effin Smith...

Free agency begins tomorrow lets not worry about what may be, let things unfold...

Another case is the Jets draft someone in the first couple rounds...

I just feel the way the Jets expressed that he has progressed is well it works the other way too, no? I mean if he has excelled to be worthy of backup that means they feel competent he could step in if the starter gets hurt, that means they have to have a game plan (play book) in case that happens... Well, use that and as the season goes along he gets comfortable expand the play book to game plan against opponents as long as Petty is not regressing because there is too much on his plate...

LOLz i'm not debating the jets are pleased with petty's progress.. quite the opposite, i'm co-signing on starting petty (with training wheels on if needed) if fitzpatrick signs elsewhere..

like I stated in the other thread...

the Jets would be foolish and just plain retarded in paying Fitzpatrick $16+ million annual... His agent believes he should be able to get that type of money either by the Jets or in the open market...

so unless he strikes out in free agency, maybe the Jets set price will be more appealing for Fitzmagic to return otherwise I am happy to see him walk then get a payday that we can not afford...

16+ is unrealistic to me & as much of a fan i am of what he did last season, happy trails to fitzpatrick if he can find that kind of money elsewhere.....
