I just got back from watching the game at the pub. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but once again I saw a Todd Bowles stinky poo special. The defense didn't play all that bad, but why would you not give the young QB the chance to win the game? In the second half the offense went into an ultra conservative shell. The offense just didn't take any chances at all and the end result is losing.
You can blame Chan if you want, but this is ultimately Todd Bowles that fucked up. The HC outranks every single person on the coaching staff and it's not like Chan Gailey hasn't already been suspect in the past?
I thought Petty played well considering how much he was handcuffed. He could have won this game, but he was never given an opportunity to do so............

Worst post ever... Sorry but come on the play calling was way to conservative for a kid with Pettys arm... we took 2 shots down field all game 1 completion and one missed time throw.... More of throws downfield specifically on first down and this is a different game....
2 reasons
1. It would have backed off the defense regardless of success or not...
2. Our running game was good and a baked off defense would have made the running game better and then Gaily could hae used that short passing game.. but he telegraphed the whole game to the Rams D and Petty played with more pressure on him then what Gailey was atcually thinking he was doing
well, if bowles isn't fired before that, i hope you're ready for more spineless football..
if not, you're setting yourself up for epic failure..
Well hard to impress with the ultra conservative Offensive play calling on steroids. But I think the kid did enough to show he deserves more time and more time with real NFL playcalling.

Bryce Petty is not to blame for this loss. This loss is 100% on the coaching staff..........

Chan Gailey and Todd Bowles coached SCARED today. They did not give Petty a chance to win this game. IMO, if you do not know how to give your players a chance to win you should be fired...........
What difference will that make? They didn't even give Petty a chance today! We learned nothing about him
Thank you.... they lay not to lose but hey they are 3-7 and lets forget about the deep ball or TE use..we don't need that right coach. BTW - The OL played better then I thought....
We are looking clueless at all aspects of the game, and that reflects on no one other than the coaching staff!
There's a big difference between third stringers and a starting NFL defense. I had a feeling this would be an ugly game. Petty was very uneven today. If Fitz had put up that type of performance, he'd be getting crucified all over this place. Bryce has got to make that throw to Robbie Anderson. You just cannot miss that throw.
Regardless, the season is done. What do we have to lose just continuing on with Petty? We have nothing to lose. Six more games for him to show growth. If he's doesn't get better, Hackenberg gets his shot next year.

I would say we did. he didn't look overwhelmed, he did go through progressions, he did not throw the ball when the play was not there and did what they asked him to do... two bad passes... overthrow and last int was behind 81... that is it.
That's a synopsis of the game he played, but they kept him handcuffed the entire game so we really didn't learn anything about Petty or what he can do.
Any NFL QB can be a game manager (they wouldn't be at this level if they couldn't), but the kid came from a spread offense, Put 3-4 WR's out there, spread out the field and see what he can do!
They coached scared and the O played conservative and tentative. If you're going to lose the damn game then go down fighting! Playing like scared b****** shows us nothing! We can lose this way every week any damn way.
I'm not surprised by the conservative game plan. I expected it. This CS still erroneously thinks we have a chance to salvage the season. Run the ball, dink and dunk. Nobody wanted to see that, but you just knew it was coming.
Thats because the CS seems to want Hack.
