Open up the the damn offense.... The rams have been throwing a lot of first down medium to deep passes... This is why these runs now are woriking.. Everything we do is 1st down run.. 2nd down run or a 2 yd pass.. 3rd and 7 and still trying to keep the plays less than 5yds... 2 deep balls... 1 huge completion... 1 bad pass but the play was there... OPEN IT UP

I don't know if it's Gailey or if it's orders from Bowles, but to not take any shots down the field when your QB's strength is his big arm just makes no sense

If i can take a screen shot of the text i sent to my friend before the play. It's exactly what I said... Not a great pass by Petty but we needed to take more deep shots on 1st downs. We made the game easy for the Rams D as their offense did for our D as well.

Time to get rid of Gailey & get going. Petty didnt look bad considering the pathetic play calling putting Petty in a bad spot most of the game.

Well, if this was an audition for petty, he has the tools, has room to improve. I think he gave the coaches the sense that he can be a competent qb, without providing opponents too much game tape.
And we will have a better puck than the rams.

But for Pettys first start and playcalling that I think hurt him at the end I saw enough to say he definitely can be an adequete starter in this league the question now becomes can he develop without having super conservative play calling..

The game plan/play calling in the second half was pathetic. If the thought was to keep the pressure off of Petty, the effect was the exact opposite. By not ever throwing the ball downfield, they allowed the defense to close in more and more on the short stuff, making life much more difficult for Petty. Ridiculous.
