He was absolutely legit.

Nobody can complain about Fitz tonight. Can complain about some guys, but not Fitz.

I HATED the guy when the Jets signed him in 2015. HATED him. But he has absolutely won me over. I LOVE what he's done for this team. This team has experienced a total metamorphosis since Fitz started leading them.

Jets could have 3 WR's over 100 yards. Has that ever been done??
The Dallas Cowboys had three receivers top 100 yards on October 28, 2012.
Tony Romo 506 yards and DAL still lost the game to DEN.
Jason Witten, 167
Miles Austin, 133
Dez Bryant ,110

Second time in franchise history. The first was at San Francisco (11/10/63) as Frank Clarke (190), Lee Folkins (112) and Billy Howton (107) were the first Cowboys trio to accomplish the feat.
Dallas finished the game with 415 net passing yards – the sixth-most in a game in franchise history.

It has happened a few other times but it is not a common occurrence.
L.A. Rams v NY Yanks 9/28/1951
Norm Van Brocklin 554 yards
Elroy Hirsch 173
Tom Fears 162
Vitamin Smith 103

L.A. Rams v Chicago Bears 12/06/1982
Vince Ferragamo 509 yards
Wendell Tyler 102
George Farmer 183
Preston Dennard 122
Rams still lost the game.

KC v OAK 11/5/2000
Elvis Grbac 504 yards and lost big time, by 17 points
Derrick Alexander 139
Tony Gonzalez 134
Sylvester Morris 102

Just as an aside, it's probably best that Enunwa DIDN'T get his 100 yards, because except for that 1951 Rams game, every team that did it previously - LOST their game !!!

I missed the beginning of the Bowles press conference.

Who did he say was injured?

I caught the end of it, something about a calf and a sprain.

He's no top 5 guy, but his numbers as a Jet have been solid, and his role in the organization is enormous. He is a great presence.

But he had receivers that got up there and snagged those babies. When's the last time our qb was surrounded by that kind of talent.
And Brandon Marshal - Tough SOB. When he went down with that knee I thought that was the season sure as hell

Rex is both a good guy and a solid defensive coach, but this could unravel on him VERY quickly. They have Arizona next week. They drop to 0-3, and his seat is going to get pretty warm.

Ham, I do not want to hear any guff from you whatsoever.......Ryan Fitzpatrick was 24/34 374 yards and 1 TD

Started slow, it was starting to look like the Cinci game all over again, long drives stalled and settling for FG's, but he really came on strong after the 1st Qtr and had a terrific game afterwards ... and we needed that performance after some blown assignments on defense and a fumbled TD return for the Bills.

I have nothing but praise for the way Fitz played tonight after a slow start. He earned the big bucks he's getting paid.

Yes, but it's a two-way street. Enunwa and Marshall are becoming legitimate targets under Fitz.

His receivers may be making him better, but he's also making them better.

And lets not kid each other here. I would be shocked if Petty or Hack are ready to take over the offense next season. They are going to need more time. In the meantime, Mac will be an idiot if he doesn't resign Fitz again. Fitz is the PROBABLE (barring some miracle) starter in 2017....

I'd argue he played above his pay grade tonight, based on him being one of the lowest paid starters in the league.

If those guys are not ready, I just hope we don't have to wait until an hour before camp opens.

I have mixed emotions tonight because we should be 2-0. We gave that game to Cinci last week. If Fitz played last week like he did tonight, we would have blown the Bengals out of the building. But hey, it is what it is, you can't be at your best every week, we're 1-1, very much in the hunt, and now we have ten days to prepare for a tough KC team on the road.

I really believed that the team that lost this game tonight was in huge trouble, thats why I was so on edge tonight. I felt like this was a must win game if you wanted to stay in the hunt. I'm glad its Buffalo (not us) that is 0-2 with Arizona next, and staring into the abyss. This was an enormous week two game in my view.

Have to put the Bengals behind you. Dwelling on losses can become a sickness over time.

Since late Sunday afternoon, the goal was to beat Buffalo. That task is done. You can't replay the Cinci game.

Biggest compliment I can pay Fitz, he was the main reason we won tonight, not just along for the ride. That was not a game manager performance. That was a big-time performance from the QB on a night when a big-time performance was absolutely essential.

That is totally fair.

The OL had a solid night, I'd say, even with Carpenter's injury.

True, nothing good can come from dwelling on last week. Point taken. This was an ENORMOUS win.

I don't like focusing too much on one game, win or lose. I prefer to look at the season in chunks. That said, tonight was crucial to survive that first chunk, which is a brutal schedule.

Survive the first 6/7 games, and the schedule becomes much easier.

Whats the prognosis on Carpenter?

I missed Bowles post game injury report :-(

Any injury updates would be welcomed.

Not heard, but SNY was just talking about whether the Jets need to reach out to Willie Colon for depth.

I really hope not. Carpenter has been an underrated acquisition.
