I'm starting the game thread for next week now because I don't want someone else to do it off a win. I believe in riding the hot hand until you lose, and right now I'm 1-0 with the game threads, so I am the hot hand.

And please, NO EDITS, this is the exact same game thread I used for Jets/Bills, only the opponent was changed.

Now the hard part is waiting almost a week and a half for our next game. I'll take joy in watching our AFC foes lose this Sunday.

Keep it going Ham.
Should we go for a Dolphin win or have the Pats win and try and bury the Phins and the Bills early to make it a two team race?

I can never root for a Pats win. I think either one is okay but i was hoping that Pats start the season 0-4 so when Brady comes back they are in a hole. So I root for a Pats loss so we are all equal at the top.

Secondary step up and play better and Fitz, please don't lose this game for us. He played a great game against the Bills and so-so against the Bengals. If Fitz can continue riding his hot hand and the secondary steps up, then a win is very possible.

If the offense and the DL play like they have, especially against Buffalo, the team is just some good secondary play away from being right in these tough road games.

Ten days to prep for KC.

Hmmm.. Its a blessing in that the team gets rest and the banged up guys (Carpenter, Mo, BM)
get to lick thier wounds.
But if the O has the momentum and hot like they were last night, I hope the down time doesn't dampen it.

I think we have a good shot at over-rated Kansas Sucky

Perfect time for an extended prep week. Get some guys right health-wise, and plenty of planning for this very tough road game.

Gailey did a great job mixing run and pass. I hope we get off to a good start offensively so that we don't fall into the one dimensional, predictable offense which falls right into the hands of the defense in their place.

Defensively, the talent level isn't matching the production in the secondary. Revis has been humbled. I hope this is a case of some early season mental lapses, or maybe he wasn't in the best shape to start the season. Whatever the case, the deep route is killing us. We cannot give up +50 yard scores anymore. That's three total in the first two games. MUST be fixed.

Other than that, the O-line has been a nice surprise. They've played well as a unit. And despite being held to no sacks against the Bills, I still think this d-line is gonna set some records this season.

We have a chance at Arrowhead.

Two games in just over 100 hours is tough, especially against physical opponents. I would think the Jets will use the break to heal and to do a lot of mental work in preparation of KC.

Based on the first two weeks, here's what I'm thinking/wondering:

Does KC have an aerial attack that will exploit our secondary? I don't think of Alex Smith that way, but we've certainly given them reason to try. Do we need to "clean up" the breakdowns, or actually change the scheme to adjust for Revis Island sinking into the ocean?

I don't know if Charles will be back (or at what strength) but I don't see why any RB would bring something we couldn't handle.

Defensively they're strong, but we've held our own against two solid ones already so I don't see us getting "shut down" (did I just say that about a Jets offense?!?!?) And when we do stall on drives it definitely looks like we've found ourselves a punter who can flip the field, something we haven't been able to say for a LONG time.

I know Arrowhead is a tough place to play (though we've had some success there), so I don't expect a flawless game. However, maybe our first two games will help there, as we've already seen we can have multiple screw ups and still stick with/beat teams. (At least we've displayed a mindset that we don't get shell-shocked, which is half the battle). I can't be the only one who envisioned the worst when Buffalo came out and scored 14 quick points out of halftime. But we went right back to practically dominating the game -- I DEFINITELY didn't expect that!

I think it's safe to say we'd be undefeated if we didn't beat ourselves, and the same should be true next Sunday. If we win the turnover battle and don't give up too many big plays, I don't see how we don't come home with the W . . .

When Jalin fumbled that ball away for the TD, and Buffalo went ahead, i thought we were dead. Yes, there was still plenty of time left, but the Jets usually fold when things like that happen. I had to pause the game and take a break right there. When I came back, the game completely turned the other way.

Couldn't believe it. But it was really nice to see that they fought back. Great sign.

Don't know about you, but I'm 44, a fan since I was 11. So that's 33 years of hoping for the best and getting punched in the gut.

I KNOW this is a good team -- I KNOW IT. Even in their loss to Cincy I was pleasantly surprised by much of what I saw. Yet just like you, the TV had to go off for a while after that fumble (even though we'd been dominating the game!) I just don't know how long it's gonna take before the "here we go again" feeling drains from my psyche.

Pretty sure it'll be the day after we lift up a trophy a that doesn't have Snoopy on it . . .

Dolphin win 100%.

If it's a "two-team race" it probably won't be a race at all. I know we get two games against them, but we need help from other sources as I doubt we go 11-1 in the rest of our non-Pat games.

IMO if we play the way we have so far this season (warts and all) we go 4-0 against the rest of the division, so let's hope the Pats don't do the same . . .

Ya know, I was thinking that same thing. A totally relaxed feeling. Its like we can watch the other games this week stress free. Sort of like plunking into the pool after mowing the lawn on a 95 degree day.

But had the Jets lost it would have been the exact opposite. I'd have been chewing the bitter pill the whole 10 days and unable to enjoy any of the other games this week.

Think I'll root for the Phinnys Sunday but if they lose... meh. Pittsburg & Cincy looks good, about as heated a division rival as you can get, and after that playoff game - could get interesting

A 4:25pm game.

Jets will be fully rested vs a team that is as good as advertised. Andy Reid will have his boys ready just as Coach Bowles will have ours up to the task.

I feel Todd will have to start scheming more to get to Alex Smith. If you give him time, he will tear you apart. Though, i have full trust that the Jets will bring down the Hammer to go up 2-1 this season. Then its onto Seattle.

Lets enjoy the Buffalo game and get as healthy as possible. Gonna be bloody the next 4 weeks..........Especially for our opponents. :global (30):
