so be it. I saw it that way too.
Can't blame #7 for Breece and Brae getting mugged before they get to the LOS though. As they go, we go. as they allow us to play offense, they allow our D not to play D; the best defensive scheme in NFL history:cooljig:

a trouncing of the Pats comes with monumental caveats. The Offensive line has to play as they did in week 1 @ TN and the defensive line has to play like they did vs. Cleve. I'm not optimistic. FTR, we crawled back to 500 at NE in 98 after starting2-3. we went to back2back AFCCG's in 09 & 10 and played in The Mud Bowl in 82 as well, but for some reason, 98 was my favorite year as a et fan.
I get a little excited when I see similarities to that season. There's a lot of season left. Hoping it's as much fun as '98.
98 was my absolute favorite by far! We totally controlled games, regardless of the opponent. If it hadn't been that freak fumble in Denver (which turned the game upside down), we would have destroyed Atlanta in the Superbowl.

Wow, in the 28 years since it ended, I've never seen another Jet fan explain it the exact way I felt. I was in the family room at my dad's house watching a 32 inch box tv. when the punt go muffed, I think I cried a little. My operations center is in Woodbury, MN. I lament that many colleagues and I have a kindred connection, because if Gary Anderson extends his FG streak, and the muff didn't happen, the SB is MN and NYJ. thanks for sharing!!!!

With Cooper slated to play, I would have loved to see all other starters on offense back for this game as well (Hall, Mitchell and Parham).
It would have been a good litmus test of what a healthy offense can do against the Cheaters' decent defense.

Hopefully, we can open it up a little with GW, Cooper and Sadiq (and Allen as the workhorse).

I was in the U.S. Army, stationed at Ft. Hood in Killeen, TX and watching the game at a sports bar on base. I was there with a few other battle buddies and a few unknown Jets fans. It was more Broncos fans there but that didn’t matter at all because we knew we had this. That pretty much was the way it was going until the halftime. We Jets fans just know we had the game in hand.

We were so confident, that we were planning where we were going to meet for the Super Bowl. Than it all changed! I believe that fumble happened on the first Jets drive, which we started off the second half with the ball. So heartbreaking! Even though that changed the entirety of the game, the Jets still fought till the end. Yes we would have destroyed the Falcons in the Super Bowl. What a FUCKING SHAME!

I had the upmost confidence in Parcells, Vinny, Curtis, Wayne C, Keyshawn, and that defense that year and the year after. That year went bad in the AFC Championship and the next year was even worse. Vinny gets hurt in preseason or game 1 and we were done period. Even though we were done, the Jets still fought to an 8-8 record and I had nothing but respect for our team.

How things have changed, SMDH!

I still have that bitter taste in my mouth, headache and heartburn to a certain degree from that lose. What a heartbreak! I had never experienced such a heart wrenching disappointment with the Jets than that year there.

The 1982 season team, I was only 12 or 13 years old and it was upsetting but I still didn’t fully understand. 2009 and 2010 seasons, I had no real faith in those teams and I was just happy they got there. I had the upmost confidence in that 1998 season team.

It felt like that team was invincible and that one fumble did change everything. I believe the Jets would have definitely mopped the floor up with the Falcons in winning there second Superbowl.

Love the faith in Cooper, a guy who has one catch this season:D
