Of course the stupid media bases everything on wins and losses, so they are talking like Fitz played well.

Anyone with a brain knows we won this game in spite of Fitz, but that (with a brain) counts out the media.

not really, Fitz is a calming influence and every player believed in him today. Don't underestimate his intelligence and influence.

I hope Geno can come back next week. Fitz is just not going to cut it. We got lucky today, the D did look better though.

I agree, Geno or Petty. Fitz is a waist of a roster spot and they need to cut him. TODAY!!!

Funny how that calming influence and intelligence only works against bad teams. Verses good teams you need talent to beat them, thats why we lost 5 of our first 6 games, verses the toughest part of our schedule. Now Fitzsucky gets to fool people again verses the soft part of the schedule, but he's not fooling me, never again, I won't be happy until he's out and Petty is in.

More Fitz is my worst nightmare.

Just when you thought the nightmare was over, HE'S BACK!!

Its like Rasputin, Jason or Freddy Kruger, you can't kill the SOB

No way. This game wasn't close because of Geno or Fitz. This game was close because of a special teams blunder, and a terrible secondary in the first half, which rebounded with a solid performance in the 2nd half.

The QB hate around here is really excessive at times. Neither QB was great today, but both made some great throws, and neither turned the ball over. Saying we won "in spite of (insert QB)" just isn't true.

I understand we all have our convictions around here, but keep it real. Be honest.

if the jets cut fitzpatrick, bowles would have to do the unthinkable..

promote, "wait for it....." promote petty at least to second string..

oh, the horror!! :global (33):

Fitz is what he is, but missing the entire offseason is extremely noticeable because he has been behind the receivers the entire season.

Fitz had like 1 pass completed to the WR's today so he definitely wasn't a reason that we won (we won in-spite of the QB play not because of it).

I would love to see if Petty can ball or not, he looked great in the preseason but that was the preseason.

The most infuriating part of this is, teams all over the league are winning with young QB's, and our HC is committed to a couple of failed retreads, its backwards thinking in the extreme, his mindset is stuck in the 1970's when young QB's were seen and not heard.

If Dax Prescott was drafted by the Jets, you wouldn't even know he's alive.

Actually just watching the games you should not be surprised. The entire CS seems absolutely dead set on making no adjustments and trying nothing new to see what works. We continually do the same thing over and over and over whether we are successful or not, so stubbornness from this CS is something that should surprise no one.

Jets beat Ravens for first time since 1997.

Only 2nd time ever. Yikes. Monkey off back.

Good win. Ugly at times, but we'll take it.

Was thinking about this throughout the game. Ravens have been a historical nightmare for us...Probably the main reason I really wanted this game badly today.

hammer certainly can speak for himself.. that said, "infuriating" & "surprised" are two very different things..

I can't enjoy this win because toilet Bowles SUCKS. Sure, the Jets may have won today, but the lesson has already been taught to every Jets fan. So long as Todd Bowles is the HC they will beat winning teams once or zero times per season.

In other words, the ONLY way the Jets would ever win the SB with toilet Bowles as HC is if the NFL gods gave us a schedule that consisted of ALL teams with a losing record all the way through the playoffs. IMPOSSIBLE.

So enjoy the win if you'd like but we still need to make a coaching change........

I agree with the first part. We don't deserve much attention unless we can beat a playoff team here and there. The Ravens were average and beaten up with injuries.

I'm not off the Todd Bowles train just yet. Too early to pull the rip cord right now. But he needs to get better with in-game coaching.

This season has potential to go really bad. It would be an accomplishment in my eyes if Bowles can turn it around and make it a decent season. I'm not on his bandwagon but you have to give him credit when it's due.

His tenure has shown that we can't beat good teams but feast on the crappy ones. That can be an indication of our talent as opposed to his coaching. Maybe in a few years when we have depth and solid players in every position instead of just the dline, we can compete with the top tier teams.

Fun game today, big gainers, interceptions, pressure on the QB, some passes actually defended, great use of the Joe Nolan cam, etc.

Still too many fans not paying attention to the game and too busy getting up for the crap food they serve right in the middle of important plays. Also, a one score game until the end and the place is half empty with 5 minutes left? Yeesh, I miss Shea

Different defense when we play without one of the top 3 DL. I said before the game that I was looking forward to seeing how the defense plays with Mo sidelined. Not because he is all of a sudden a bad player, but because the team is built to play a 3-4 and TB coaches best with that scheme. Once the secondary got its act together in the second half we were lights out. Curious as to why we didn't see either Roberts or Burris at CB, particularly with the play in the first half.
As far as the offense goes, the Ravens were missing their top 3 players in Suggs, Dumervill and Mosely. So I'm not that excited at yesterday's performance. I'm also extremely disappointed that Smith got injured before we got to see him play an entire game. I liked what I saw from him though, and also liked the game plan that Gailey had in place for the offense. Drove me nuts when I watched us revert to stupid passing on short yardage situations, Fitz walking into the oncoming rush and those damned sidearm throws. I hope Smith's injury is minor, but I'm fearing that its not and we have to endure the remainder of the season with Fitzpatrick.
One last note about Fitzpatrick. I read that he was all whiny after the game about no one from the owner down to the ball boy had any faith in him. Well duh, if you didn't hold us hostage for the entire offseason and then play like every other team's bitch for 5/6 of the season what do you expect you self absorbed prick. The jets won today in spite of you, not because of you.

It doesn't matter. Petty isn't going to see the field for at least a few more weeks regardless of what happened today. Neither QB was bad today. As much as some fans bizarrely wished they would be.

Depends on how bad Geno's injury truly is. If Smith is out two weeks, then Petty is the automatic back up. Also given the words that Fitz spoke about management not believing in him, they may place him on a shorter leash.
Organizations HATE when they are called out. Especially wrongfully so. I think we will see Bryce in there sooner than we think....Again, this could be 2002 all over again. Promising young QB that no one knows about, bringing us to glory.

I bet the world is upset by what Fitz said.... But the truth of the matter is. He played very well. Some players need to play angry in order to get the results many expect of them.
