What trade value might/does Geno Smith have?

smith has no trade value.. any team that wants to take a shot on him will wait until we cut him.. because we will cut him..
all the other franchises know this as well..

Because of his low trade value, there is a scenario he could be on the team next year. I sure don't want him back, but with his low value, and low salary, it's very possible he and Petty are competing for the back up job

I agree. I don't want him back either. If you look at the logic of it, Smith is a failed starter, who is still under a 2nd round contract. Fitz plays balls to the wall. if they hope to compete next year they will need an experienced back up. Depending if they feel petty is ready to carry a team, Smith might still be there sulking in the back ground.

this upcoming off season a team will take Geno Smith off our hands for a conditional 2017 pick, and likely we won't receive the compensation due to the conditions set in that deal.
at best they probably can get a conditional 5th based on he has starting potential. who would gamble on him, plenty of teams looking for a viable starter option or backup and believe he can be that guy. Teams (49ers, Rams, Dolphins, Bills, Cardinals, Bears, Redskins, even the Cowboys) could all be a part of the mix.
have to think between the Dolphins, and Bills are the most likely. has to be active for some % of the season to qualify for the 5th, start x-amount of games to make it a 4th
lets agree that he does have potential, but he is worn out his welcome here. Keep him throughout the offseason training camp up to and not past the preseason.

Brandon Marshall was traded for a 5th, Fitzpatrick for a 7th, and Anquan Boldin went to the 49ers for a 6th. All highly productive players. Geno might get a conditional late round pick. Might. He has flashed some ability, as evidenced by him being the starter in camp before IK went all gangsta on him.
