What do you guys think? Have we closed the gap talent wise? They were pretty damn good last year but now changing things up with Rex. We obviously have Bowles running the show.
I thought the Jets D was ranked 27th last year?Bills as of today. Our secondary is better and their front 7 is better when you factor in pass rush ability. I think it will be interesting to see how Mac and Bowles address our lack of pass rush. Bowles is also more of a bend but dont break DC, while Ryan almost fits his scheme to winning the best D...like last year statistically we had the 6th best D (Bills were 4th)...but did it ever feel like we had the 6th best D? I guess in the Patriot games maybe, but I always felt when teams wanted to score (think the Packers game, or Vikings game, or even vs the Bears, it just felt like when they wanted to score, they did).
I think the Bills D will be statistically better.

whoever can get to the QB...hits, sacks, pressure...hopefully the Jets score enough to make teams have to through
rex is a great defensive mind but he is stubborn to a fault..
3rd & long has been "advantage offense" for a few years now because rex will still send the house (95% of the time) & the league has now adjusted to it.. i believe he remains as predictable in buffalo as he's been since the moment he landed up there..
advantage jets..
ironically for the most part, rex has always given brady fits..I know it has felt this way at times in the last few seasons but I believe the stats prove different. Two things. One is I think it has happened more in clutch situations or when we really need a stop but still less overall then most teams. Two Rex now has very good CBs again in Buffalo so I'm sure he will improve again.
Rex will probably still have a top 5 D in Buffalo and Top 10 for sure. Same for the Jets.
Maybe slight advantage to the Jets right now because the division is much more familiar with Rex and his style.

i believe that's the case because even he recognizes he must try to out think brady instead off the "balls to the wall" approach..
bottom line is both ryan & bowles will both field very formidable defensive units next season..
LOLz extremely different personalities but very similar defensive philosophies..
