i'm not going to rattle off the lengthy laundry list of reasons why i think re-signing smith would be an awful idea.. this is a jet forum.. smith's resume both on & off the field, as well as in the locker room is common knowledge to this fan base..actually I was being dead serious...
a one year deal for Geno Smith a QB that knows the system because it is unlikely that Gailey or Bowles are gone this off season... a one year deal $4 Million with incentive or bonus if he is named starter of $2 -3 Million is not crazy BUT smart...

Geno Smith lately hasn't done anything off the field to suggest otherwise... Do I like Geno, no but compared to all the other options out there he is the wise decision... From a football decision, he is a more costly option... A veteran that has been in this system for two years, can compete against Bryce Petty for the starting job, knowingly at any time whomever wins the job can be replaced by the said second option... Gives this regime time to develop Christian Hackenberg...
To look at this another way, yes Romo would be an awesome thing here in New York but really he isn't mobile and is one shot from retirement... He is an injury prone player with upside the only problem we have a problem with our offensive line and it will cost big dollars in free agency to fix it for a qb like Romo... We can continue developing linemen with mobile esq quarterbacks like Geno, Petty and even Hackenberg...
you & 15 are asking bowles (who's already on shaky ground) & maccagnan to commit employment suicide.. my opinion anyway.....
