this is a complete rebuild....we forgetting that? Neither the draft nor FA could plug all the holes. I know I know -most Jets fans don't understand what a quality organization looks like...it's been a long time since they had a definable structure of competence. This may just be the first time in 50+ years they have a correct approach to building a roster. They have flushed what won't be here in a couple years - refused to get into contracts that will last a couple years or more- and have been adding through the draft and building draft capital.

Because of the complete incompetence of the prior two GMs - the Jets have no draft classes that have produced contributing players. They are starting at ridiculously low level of roster competitiveness. They plugged in rookies to starting positions - what do you expect? They picked up bargain FAs to prevent future cap years from being compromised when the surrounding cast is better and more expensive. Even last year's draft was done with Adam Gase involved- you think Joe D acted alone? Please. This year we have a defensive HC and there was significant influence on not only how the 2nd/3rd days of draft went, but FA (or the lack thereof).

Here is what i do know -2021 is the first year the GM had control -draft, FA, HC. It should all have his fingerprints on it. I'm sure he can share some of it for 2020, but he wasn't in charge and had to work with Gase and his needs at the time. Would the 2020 look the same with a Saleh in charge? Probably not - so think about just how much blame goes to JD.

Finally I will say time is to blame. There hasn't been enough of it spent together. From the OL to the QB on the field to the experience of the OC as a playcaller. Time is the enemy so far but every week we get more of it. Make no mistake, there are bodies on this roster that will eventually be replaced by better ones - it takes time. Patience gang, patience. Wave the flags -wear the Green - BE LOUD AND PROUD - BETTER DAYS ARE COMING!
Thank you. 👍

My luck if switching and going to Raiders the Jets will become the biggest powerhouse Team in top 3.

Yes, we have to give GM, Coaches and QB some time to get situated. All above is who I wanted to run Jets or I was leaving Jets after fandom since 68

@Seaver...great post. No, it hasn't been lost on me that this is a complete rebuild. Nor, has it been lost that this is the first the GM & HC are working in complete concert.

"Trader" Joe is going into the draft with massive amounts of draft capital, and that will increase. I sincerely believe we will have at least:

2 1st's in the 2022 draft.
3 2nd's in the 2022 draft.
4 3rd's in the 2022 draft.
* These numbers might go up per round depending on how deep Joe thinks the first round is...think about that!!

The Oline will be completed for the 2022 season with 5 babies all 24 and younger.
The LB's will be completed with speed to burn.
The Safeties will have 2 new starters.
One prized possession at CB.

The Jets will make a massive leap in 2022.
The icing on the cake will come in 2023 when we draft a bell weather RB & a Megatron Type WR.

when i moved to SWFL in 1981, i started watching the Jets on my 13 inch black and white TV in my bedroom...antennas and all.
i have always joked that had i waited just 6 more weeks into the season, i would have caught onto the 49'ers, and would have been cheering 5 Super Bowl Championships.

in short, we are stuck bleeding green, man!!! let's ride it out to the end...the SB we witness will be all the more sweeter!

Only 10 more years with 4 GMs and 5 HCs and finally Woody sells team to focus on stink free Maxi Pads and Jets become the "FART" Stands for, FAST-ACTION-RESPONCE-TEAM doing away with Jets, jest jest jest.
