if problems start at the top then all you have to do is look at ownership over the years to see why the dysfunction. They haven't had a true football person in charge of the whole operation. the owners have had little to no clue and as a result have had uneven hirings over the years. Leon Hess finally got desperate and brought in Parcells. Once Leon was gone and Woody took over, it Parcells leaving and that left Woody on an island. He hasn't had a good hire record over the years - by that I mean football people running the team outside of the coaches. They still don't have good football people up top - they had to go outside for consultants to find the current GM/HC. All we can hope now is that this tandem produces becasue if left to ownership/front office to make the choices, we're screwed.
In short - the lack of strong ownership leads to inconsistency of results. Woody still needs to put better people in the executive roles to achieve longterm success.
I agree there are changes that have to made but the #1 change is winning. Not just winning during the season and playoffs but winning the SB. The more they win and stay consistent, especially SBs the more the respect or dislike or laughing stock (whatever you want to call it) modo will change. Bowles and Mac personality, the way they carry themselves and the moves they made so far is a start but winning is the finish. The uniform change would be sweet also. I would say incorporating the color black (main) or dark grey (secondary) would be a nice change also. The stadium thing is also a big one. They really killed themselves with this move to Giants Stadium. Get it, GIANTS STADIUM hence the name of the DAMN Stadium!!! That was the start of our demise IMO. Even when the Jets were garbage but in their own stadium, they at least had that to fall back on and was not considered the little brothers of NY-NJ. After moving to NJ, it seem to all start to me. Well that and the Kotite erra. The stadium was and will always be a huge mistake. I think if the Jets really want to be viewed as equal to the Giants there would need to be some major marketing changes of the team made. Stadium in NY, new log and uniform and winning success. I think we may have start on the winning with Bowles and Mac.
And that's why I'm not a Giants hater
Absolutely! It was a gigantic joy seeing NYG beating the Cheats twice in the big one!
Those Super Bowls were tough to watch. Both teams top my most hated list and to be honest as much as I hate the Pats, I wanted them to win it bc I know more giants fans who are cocky and just horrible fans.
Gotta admit, I was pulling for the Pats in those 'Bowls as well. You're brave to admit it, and I'm outta my mind.
Not me.
I lived in Florida for both of them..........Super Bowl Sunday, I was a Giants fan in both of them.

The uniform is something that doesn't appear to change very often in 'American' Football. With soccer - especially in Europe, the strips change yearly. Not always dramatically but enough to keep selling new strips.I agree there are changes that have to made but the #1 change is winning. incorporating the color black would be perfect for the uniform. they don't even have to change the uniform or the helmet just add a third color in there somehow. also come up with a third uniform in mainly the black color and I think pretty much that's it. if they truly go all out and change the uniform entirely too black, green and white to make a Oregon Duck style uniform that would be okay but unnecessary to me but if they do no complaints. The uniform is something that doesn't appear to change very often in 'American' Football. What do you think would/could happen to the Jets uniforms?
I've seen some suggestion - black & green for example - but I appreciate it is an emotive subject - especially as the Jets colour has 'always' been green.
