Really loving Mike Williams and Fournette. Maybe the Jets will luck up and draft them both, rounds one and two!!! Wishful thinking!!!

The Jets need help in a lot of places. There's really only two options in my book: take the best player on the board or trade down for picks. If we can accumulate a lot of high to mid round picks, that'd be perfect.

Just don't screw it up like Idzik did.

Honestly this year was awful but there is talent on this team.... As far as need goes I don't thing we need a lot of help in a lot of areas but we need help in the most important area QB

a QB will make an offense line look good and bad.... I think Our OL needs an upgrade at LT and that's it... We are good at G, Wesley Johnson played well at C and Ijalana, Shell and Qvale all played well at RT buy Ijalana was terrible at LT

What needs to happen in the off-season. Not necassarily in this order but these are the needs
1 - Find who the QB will be
2 - Get the best LT possible
3 - Get the best CB possible
4 - Finally get a damn edge rusher....
5 - Get an OC and a DC that don't have their heads in their ass

But with that said; with the first 3 picks I would take:

1 Cam Robinson - OT Alabama
2 Desmond King - CB Iowa
3 Brad Kaaya - QB Miami (if he comes out. Not sure if he announced yet) Say whatever you want about picking another QB but I am from the school of keep swinging till you hit that HR

The whole "BPA" approach is understandable...but to a point. For example if Jonathan Allen DE falls, the Jets better not take him unless they plan on trying to make the defensive into an 11-guy DE/DT defense, eliminate the CB/S/LB position, and aim to be the best run stopping team ever, while going 0-16 and letting up 995 pass ypg.

I would not touch Humphrey since hes a CB from Bama, nor would I touch Allen.

Guys I like are Fournette and Cook. These guys can both be legit weapons at the RB position for us, which we have not had since Curtis Martin. These guys can definitely be our Zeke as long as we improve the OL.

I also would be good with us taking Foster (he looks like he could be a Patrick willis type of impact LB) and Peppers. Less enthused about Peppers since I hate taking a S or CB with a top pick but he does seem like an all around impact player.

I am also fine with Ramzyk or Robinson at OT if we feel they can be a book end for 10 years

If you haven't watched the highlight tape in the opening of this thread, go watch it. Your eyes will pop outta their sockets. This kid is gonna be special. He would make us all forget about Brandon Marshall.

Williams, Decker, and Enunwa.

I'll take that.

i guess we can get a good barometer on him the national championship game against 'Bamma.
That D is stacked with 1st and 2nd round talent.

If they do heads will roll next year

... and will be replaced by the next wave of equally ineffective heads as the Jets keep rolling along the highway of mediocrity

(Yeesh, it is hard not to react like this to everything that happens with this team)

Bama has some pretty talented CB's and Humphry a bigger CB should give Williams a good NFL type test with the whole world watching. If he passes this and runs a sub 4.5 forty at the Combine he could easily be in line for a top ten pick.

Jets could save 7.5 Million by dropping Marshall..Certainly an option.

BTW - could they play any worse music during all of these prospects highlight reels. UGH!

I'm in agreement that we need help in a lot of areas. I don't see our OL being a trouble area though. Am I missing something with Ryan Clady. Is he retiring or leaving via FA? Personally I'd rather see a veteran at the blind side, and see us concentrate on MLB and CB. I think that , based on team need, we can't go wrong with Rueben Foster to replace an aging Harris, and hope we can get immediate help at CB. I'm not adverse to the Jets looking at turning Revis into a free safety . He might not have the blazing speed he once had, but he is a smart heady player, and I really think , when healthy, he could be an excellent safety. I think our young defense would benefit fron Revis' veteran leadership, especially if Foster replaces Harris.

Ryan Clady has a team option of $10 Million, does he really warrant that? He is gonna seek a competitive price point with guarantees because he is likely to end up on IR again...

Not necessarily, I'm just trying to seek out an option that would allow us to sign a talent in Rueben Foster that would seem to help out our defense tremendously, IMHO. Blind side tackles are not so easy to find, and Clady could have some productive years left.

Maccagnan may look to one of his old players he scouted for Houston, in David Quessenberry only 26, has three and a partial year was inactive on non-football IR but is in remission... If he is capable of going he will likely be a more affordable option with upside... Very durable player except for the cancer part... At the same time DQ could be that bridge guy for us to draft a left tackle to bring along...

I also think Reuben Foster will be on our radar just b/c they need to pair up Lee with a thumper and he could be the guy but I don't see Foster being taken that high so we would have to trade down if we can...

All expensive, under performing vets are gone. Clady is moving on. This off season will see big names leave.

Personally, I'm excited. Did I want superman to show up and save us,yes. But he didn't. We have 2 prospect QB's, no first round qbs in the draft, and another hard schedule. Even rich cimini was surprised, and he hates the Jets.

I think we dump contracts this year, go 1 year deals on any new place holders and play the kids. I feel like mac's 2 drafts got us caught up with the depth we lacked, and now we need to have 2 more strong drafts until we are built for the future. I'm expecting a7 win season.

Turnonthejets.com has their top 30 players in the draft, right now, on it. Rueban Foster is sitting at #2. FWIW.

CBS has 32nd...

e1 lists are all over the place atm b/c not all prospects have declared yet...

At # 6 I think we should go best player available and to be honest I think it will also be a postion of need if it's a Tackle or Cornerback...

currently no tackle on the board worthy of that pick...
there are plenty of corners but none that would justify our fan base taking since this position is deep this year in the first three rounds with plenty of first round grades due to injury with be had in the second round and so on...

WR could be an option... Corey Davis, WMU & Mike Williams, Clemson
MLB should be an option... Reuben Foster, Alabama & Jabrill Peppers?
ER could be an option... Derek Barnett, Tennessee & Carl Lawson, Auburn
SAF also could be an option... Malik Hooker, Ohio St. & Jamal Adams, LSU

If that's the case go Edge Rusher in Tim Wright from AL or Derek Barnett from Tenn

  1. Trade down
  2. Pick the best OL available
  3. Hire a computer dweeb to hack into the Patriots front office
  4. Pick who the Patriots wanted one round ahead of them for the rest of the draft

Dear Comrade,
Who did you use and can we borrow him for a while?

Ryan Ramczyk has thrown his hat into the draft, officially...

No. 1 pick should, could be this kid... Just hoping the other top prospects are too good for the other five teams to pass up, so he lands to us...
