Most of the greatest wrs of all time are 6'2 and above -

Jerry Rice
CHRIS carter
RANDY moss
TO
Calvin Johnson
LARRY Fitzgerald
ANDRE johnson

Could he be Torry Holt or Marain Harrison? The shorter great wrs? Sure. But if I have the choice of a 6'2 220lbs 4.3 Wr or a 6'1-6'0 WR that runs in the 4.4 range, I take the big guy.

Truth is, of a WR is 6'0 or 6'1, I prefer them to be solid built like Boldin. Cooper passes that test at a solid 210. I like cooper a lot...I just like a guy who is an inch taller, jumps higher, and blazes and has shown proven success (the Stephen hill comparisons are stupid, Hill caught 29 total balls or something like that in college, White caught 110 balls last year, like comparing Kerley's NFL production to Andre Johnson's).

I'd be happy with either guy, because I think Cooper is going to be successful and be a Holt or Harrison type. It's just I prefer of Calvin Johnson type wrs over Marvin Harrison types.

first off Cooper official time has been adjusted to sub 4.4. I think you aren't understanding how important route running is in the NFL.( this separates the good Wr from the great- it's like accuracy for a Qb). There is a reason when you see Kevin white highlight film , you don't see the separation a guy with his athletic ability should have going against college Cb's. Now if he can't get separation there, how's he going to do against way better cb's in the pro game.

Raiders have a Wr on their roster who numbers are very similar to Kevin White. ( just going by numbers). Kevin White http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=113644&draftyear=2015&genpos=WR. Versus. ???http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=82134&draftyear=2013&genpos=WR

Cooper is the better WR coming out of College and will be the better WR in the NFL... IF both are there you take Cooper over White 11 times out of 10... And that's not a knock on White. I like the kid, I'd be happy if we picked him. As long as Cooper is off the board... and Not gonna lie I like DeVante Parker over White too. So Take Cooper, Parker then White. in that order depending on availability.

A lot of praise for Parker here.

Well, I understand route running is the most important aspect of being an NFL WR...but so is being able to get off the jam, which cooper rarely faced in college, and the lack of upper body strength cooper has at 20 will give him problems vs press man coverage, see Marques Lee's biggest weakness coming out. His polished route running didn't help him in this area, which is why he never started last tear. Every wr prospect has areas for growth....every single one...even Cooper.

Cooper will be better? Huh, didn't know we had posters on this board that could see the future...cool.

I think both sides of this debate are right, Cooper is the better route runner which does result in more separation, you watch his tape and you just see him running down field wide open a lot more often, and its not because teams weren't paying attention to him, he was Bama's most dangerous player and every defense he faced rolled their coverage to him, he's just a smooth SOB who glides in and out of his cuts.

On the other hand Kevin White's numbers are fairly equal, he put up some monster numbers too, albeit in not quite the same way. Physically he was just superior to the DB's who tried to cover him; bigger, stronger and faster, he's also a great leaper who goes up and gets it at its highest point, and he has the best hands I've seen on a college WR since Michael Irvin. Yeah, I'm that old, I remember watching Irvin at Miami (and being in awe), and White reminds me a little bit of Irvin, though I'm sure White ran a faster forty, but a similar player in my view.

Thats why I have a hard time separating the two. If I had to I would put White 1 and Cooper 2 for the same reasons as Super, he's just a superior physical specimen, but talent wise it couldn't be more equal and you might even give a slight nod to Cooper. Bottom line, too me this is similar to AJ Green and Julio Jones when they came out, you can't go wrong either way, both guys have ELITE #1 WR written all over them.

My points why Amari Cooper is far superior to Kevin White. 1. route running 2. Wasn't a one year wonder like Kevin White 3. Better competition he played against , was far superior.
Last point seen so many NFL Wr's really impressed with Amari Cooper game , and think he's going to be able to contribute from day one.
The jets might get there chance to draft either one of the Wr's , when they pick at six. Let's see who they prefer.

He's really only had 1 terrific year, playing in the Big 12 vs. Cooper having played 3 seasons in the toughest conference in CFB. White is 2" taller and comparable to Cooper speed wise. Route tree run in college favors Cooper and again... Alabama players make for better pros than WV players. Just sayin'....

He might turn out to be the best PLAYER in this class.

I think the two best players in this draft are the WR's, Cooper and White, followed by Williams and Fowler.

I'm perfectly fine with that opinion, Boozer. As I've been saying for months, I love both guys and I'm having a real hard time ranking them 1 and 2. Too me they are both elite #1 WR's waiting to happen at the next level, similar to Julio Jones and AJ Green when they came out in the same class. The way I see it, you can't go wrong either way and there is no wrong answer to which one is better. I can sit here and write a pretty thoughtful post about why Cooper is better, go get a snack, then write a similar analysis on why White is better. The honest truth is, I have no earthly idea which one will be a better pro, but here's what I do know, I'll be surprised if either one of them is not an elite #1 WR in the NFL.

Its not often I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. I'm usually opinionated when it comes to the draft, but on this one if I told you I know one will be better than the other I would be lying, it wouldn't be sincere. The best I can do is say, I love the both of them and they are the top two players in the draft on my board.

Boozer, one more thing.

The good news (or bad news?) is, I doubt its a choice the Jets will have to make. IMO one of the two will be off the board in the TOP 5, most likely to Oakland, and I keep vacillating between which one, I still don't know, but I believe one will be gone and thus that choice will be made for us, then its just a matter of whether or not we want the other one.

Thats why I don't think its a conversation we need to waste too much time on. It would be if we were picking in the TOP 4, then we'd have to decide which one is better, but at 6 I believe that choice will be made for us.

Read yesterday it seems Jets are really high on Hundley of the qbs in this class. I do think it has become apparent a qb will be taken and I think Simms roster spot is quickly coming in doubt.

Ohhhhhh, he had some issues with coaches, but I've heard his interviews on Sirius this month as well as his coaches and all issues were minor. This kid is a player and I believe learned from some immature mistakes. I would be veru, very excited if we landed this kid to work with Revis and cro....he can play. I have no doubts about that.

There is no guarantee the Raiders are picking a Wr with their first pick. They could easily go defense with that first pick( pass rusher or Leonard Williams if he were to drop) and have a very good chance to still address the Wr position later in the draft.

Three ex NFL lb's ( Reggie Mckenize- GM , Jack Delrio- HC and Ken Norton JR.- DC) are making that first round decision, and they easily could have fallen in love with one of those pass rushing lb's.( Khalif Mack can play De full time) Getting another pass rusher opposite K Mack is just as big priority as Wr.

Agreed. I don't think it's a lock the Raiders go WR. Could easily see them take Williams, Fowler, or Gregory. I find it hard to believe anyone thinks they can predict the decisions the Raiders will make.

I don't know why it would be a shock if the Raiders took the best player in the draft, who also happens to be a local product, who falls in their lap because the teams drafting in front of them reach for QBs.
