Darnold then what is it saying with using the 34th pick on a QB
you are the starter but we need a viable backup and 2nd round QB is affordable for 4 years

and also means time to be more protective of the ball no recklessness, but at the same time you have been not durable and we need someone that can be that guy as well we are protecting ourselves

OT and The TE
TE in Freiermuth is a push to Herndon who is entering his contract year and after last year doesn't deserve to be the starter, so Pat may take the job in training camp...

for every other team out there Slater is a day one starter at 5 positions we need to replace Fant and Fant offers us trade value we need to keep rebuilding the line through the draft not free agency... free agents signed are short term fixes...

I am for keeping Darnold. I would trade the #2 pick to Philly For #6, #20 (I believe Chi #1 in Wentz trade), and Philly 2nd rd pick. So that would give me. Correct me if I am wrong on the latter picks for rd 4 , 5 and 6. I will add draft picks and FA as I go along. I want to build around Darnold, but I also want to build the defense too. I feel there are quality OG and C in Rds 2 & 3. In years past (per Brick) I am big on the OL.

Rd1 #6 OL Slater or Sewell. I think Slater will be drafted ahead of Sewell. We take who is available.
Rd1 #20 CB Jaycee Horn
Rd1 #23 LB Zaven Collins
Rd2 #2 C Creed Humphrey
Rd2 #6 WR Terrace Marshall
Rd3 #2 DE Payton Turner
Rd3 #23 DE Rashad Weaver

Resign: Maye, Hewitt, Elflein, Basham, Poole,
RFA Tender: Adams

FA Signees: , G Thuney, CB Richard Sherman and the 49ers Defense cast offs., WR Allen Robinson, RB Aaron Jones.

Saleh built his philosophy around drafting linemen in the early (first) round(s), and I don't think he will suddenly go against that with his new team
Yes, there are many holes to fill, but I think he'll take an offensive lineman at 23 or with a late first rounder or early 2nd rounder acquired for Darnold.
And if they keep Sam, then Slater or Sewell at #2.

hearing Bengals like Pitts at 5

They have a QB who got clobbered last year and is rehabbing a knee injury i believe . That teams need an OT more than we do but yea, more weapons will help protect that investment . That super bowl performance by Mahommes against the Bucs defense is going to have league wide ramifications .

I have no issue with the philosophy, just the QB you chose and the round you chose him. If i'm in the decision making process and Wyatt Davis is on the board at 34, he's starting at LG for the Jets in 2021.

Couldn't agree more on both points . Since we're trading out of pick 2, Slater is probably our target with our eventual 1st pick . i would like to follow that up with a CB(Melifonwu) and then Davis to finish fixing the line . Signing a Robinson in free agency will go along way to allowing us to bypass a WR in thee 1st 3 picks . I figure with the signeee, last year's #2 pick and either someone already on the roster or someone like Wallace from Oklahoma State should be perfect .

To sum it all up i'm fixing the OL once and for all , adding a CB if i can or an Edge rusher a feature RB, a center(hoping that injury to Landon Dickerson lets him drop ) and looking to move on from our slot receiver

Man I wished I watched college enough to go into this deep, like most of you guys but I don’t so I can’t. I’ll just say trade down with someone like the Bengals or Carolina for a haul of course. Draft Fields at #5 or #8. If he’s still even there that late and draft quality players from there. All positions of need and where do we start from there?

If Fields is gone at 5 or 8 than I’m going with Lance with my Seattle pick at #23. If he’s still there at that point. Free agency comes before the draft, so we fill a few key gaps by signing 3-4 key free agents and of priority guys back. I of course would trade Darnold for hopefully a late first of second at worst. I’d say with this we become a possibility playoff team next year.

they aren't going to trade up for a tackle Sewelll, knowing they can get one in the second round like Cosmi from Texas
they also know he was able to make things happen without a good OLine so why not get him that receiving tight end since AJ Green is about one to two seasons removed from retirement, they have his replacement in Tee Higgins now they need that TE

just what I am hearing from people associated with the team, they could always trade down but doubt it...

not wasting a first round pick with (5th round team option) on a QB especially if they keep Sam...
spending a 2nd round on an insurance move is what teams tend to do look at Philadelphia...
I don't think Sam is the next Wentz but just in case it can not elevate his game the Jets have an option to go to...

adding a CB
depth not starter we have 3 starters in Austin, Hall & Guidry
we may not need to add to this position unless they add a veteran through free agency...
we have Corey Balletine, Lamar Jackson, and coming off IR Kyron Brown...
