Looks like ArDarius Stewart was released too. A
Going to leave us pretty thin at WR to start the season, especially if Anderson gets a suspension. Him and Kearse likely out to start the season.

he wasn't released he was placed on reserve/suspended list...

I just came on to edit that. NFL.com had him listed as released in their cut tracker.
Any word on Anderson's investigation?
I'm hoping he won't get suspended. League is taking a long time to announce.

Hopefully your right but I just saw a story from Cimini a few days ago that his case was still under investigation by the League.

If we cut McBride and keep Peake....

I really don’t know what to say about that. Peake has been underwhelming to me. McBride was active this preseason. He easily looked like a top 5 receiver on this team.

Get McBride on the PS, please.

I think a huge consideration for Peake , over a guy like McBride , was that Peake is an excellent special teams player.

It must be, because from what I saw in the games, McBride caught the ball and made plays, and Peake dropped the ball numerous times. Easy catches, too.

McBride could return after week 1 when all the real roster moves, practice squad is settled...

And no, to my knowledge Peake doesn't qualify for practice squad so he is either in or out...

Peake's value got a real boost with that touchdown catch from McCown, not saying McBride didn't out shine Peake but the potential for Peake is larger/greater than what McBride can bring... Now if McBride showed any promise as a returner, he could of boost his value...

Mheta reports the Jets made no waiver claims over the weekend. Was pretty surprised to hear that.

I saw that. I cannot believe there wasn't a single upgrade out there.

Jets didn't want to claim to assume anyone's contract... They will sign any they feel has potential if they clear waivers so they can control the offsets in any contracts they feel are worth the trouble...

That is true. But how many of these guys are carrying significant contracts? Obviously, guys like Lynch, but many guys are on low deals.

any player the Jets are interested in that were drafted have in place rookie wage scale contracts, with limited guarantees in place... if waived and then claimed the new team picks up said contract because the player contract is still in tow... said player clears waivers new team can sign said player to minimal base contract even tho said player was drafted...

That is true. I suppose if you think the guys you are looking at won't be claimed. It makes you wonder about the decision the Pats made to claim Hansen. They didn't let him clear waivers, they outright claimed him.

well the Patriots love rookie deals, helps them control the cap so players like Tom Brady can get paid...

here is an example the Browns waived Nate Orchard, DE his contract rookie deal was 4 year $4.45 M if the Jets claimed him his 4th year would of been $1.4 M... now he has cleared waivers the Jets could bring him in for 1 year deal $600K a whopping savings of $800K

True, but in this case, are they really that high on Hansen? I mean, I guess he fits their prototype to some degree, but I would have thought he was brought in primarily as a brain dump.

I remember the Jets taking a close look at Orchard leading up to the draft his year. Three years ago, was it? I guess since he cleared, they can sign him to whatever deal they want, if they think he's an upgrade over what they have on the edge.

reference on Hansen from many scouts when the Jets drafted him that he is a younger version of Eric Decker... Hansen was known for his possession receiving skills, and what does he really know about our offense as the real playbook has not been installed yet...

it was this philosophy that they trying to estabilish that stumped him and halted whatever potential we saw last year...

I really think he compliments Hogan's over the top ability, allowing the Patriots to play levels... Hansen if he continues to develop could be that Edelman underneath go to guy... and the Patriots love that short to intermediate passing attack...
