There are no words to describe how much this effected us. This was a free agency kill-shot and it will effect the draft as well.I'd honestly consider blacklisting the Vikings the way the Colts have McDaniels and the Pats after their stunt. The Vikings keep pulling this.
Or, better yet, I'd come in and make offers above value to any guys they have made any deals with, except Barr. If not this year, next year. If they don't respect when other teams have a deal in place with a player, why should other teams respect their deals?

I hope you're right, but right now I'm just despondent. I feel defeated. I came home from the doctor hoping to see that we signed Bell and Paradis too, but instead I read that Barr pulled the rug out from under us. I thought drafting a potential FQB would change things and make the Jets more attractive to free agents, so s--t like this wouldn't happen anymore. So much for that. Thank God I'm a Yankees fan too. At least they win championships, give their fans a sense of pride, and they're an attractive destination for 98% of free agents worldwide. Its a worldwide brand and it speaks of excellence. Thank God they let me know what that feels like, because the Jets are the polar opposite. The question is, how will it affect the draft?
Last year, the Jets offered more money to Cousins. He chose to take less to go to the Vikes, and he and his contract are an albatross around that franchise while the Jets stayed the course and drafted Sam Darnold.
What's to say this move doesn't cause the Jets to stay with the third pick and end up with either Bosa or Allen, who might outpace Barr's production for far less money on their rookie deal? Barr might have kept the Jets from going edge rusher in an edge rusher heavy draft.
I expressed this concern earlier that with Mosley and Barr, I was worried the Jets were allocating too many resources to LB while other positions needed attention. I'm still disappointed in not getting either Morse or Paradis, as it reminds me of the guys the Jets passed on at center last year. That said, Barr might have done this franchise nearly as big a favor as Kirk Cousins did.

I don't blame Mac for this. All you can do is offer a contract to someone and if they have shitty character and can't keep their word then I don't want that type of player anyway.

The Jets can focus that money they were going to give to Barr and other areas.

If Barr had just rejected our offer we could have pivoted to other top tier free agents.
Now we're stuck with all this cap space, all that money we had set aside for Barr, and no free agents left worth spending it on.
Okay, Le'Veon Bell is still in play, but thats about it, I don't like throwing big money and years at 30+ year old FA's like Justin Houston.
We had the right idea going after guys in their mid 20's, in their primes, top shelf FA's too, but Barr ruined it for us.
I wish we had gone after Trent Brown or Trey Flowers instead.
I just got my property tax bill and came to the realization that I have to sell this house and move to another state. Honestly, NO JOKE, what good is it that I paid off my mortgage when Andrew Cuomo and Bill De Blasio are financially sodomizing me for a house I already paid for?NY isn’t as appealing as it used to be.
HAHAHA!!! How many times can Mike Mac make himself and the Jets Org. look like a bunch of inept FOOLS? This is the 3rd time a Player used the Jets offer to stay or go to another team! Thats now 2 Vikes Players and Dumb Suh. How much longer with the Johnsons put up with his BAD over paid signings and getting slapped in the face with his offers and then Horrible, awful Drafts that are not a first round top 6th pick? Hey Dumb GM of Jets, make an offer on the phone and Fax the sign sheet to the agent /Player and phone vid signing and tell them to sign it because when you hang up the offer goes! Hey Johnsons, are you really letting Mikey spend a 100 Mil. again and Draft? Could put us in cap hell and bad Rookies for another 4 years.

I was born and raised in NYC (Manhattan), but left to a more suburban part of NY when I was a kid.You couldn't pay me to live in NYC. My brother lives there and has for 35 years. I've visited him numerous times and wasted lots of money going to see the Jets play. I always hated the city. Its gross and the people seem miserable.
