The Baltimore Ravens, always looking to keep their defense strong, could target a pass-rusher early in the 2015 draft.
Kentucky's Bud Dupree is one of the top options in that regard, and Ravens assistant general manager Eric DeCosta gave the OLB/DE a nice review last week.
“Bigger guy, extremely athletic, tremendous combine workout,” DeCosta said, per CSNBaltimore.com. “Another guy, he can play in space, he’s got size, he matches up very well in coverage versus tight ends, which is unusual to find an outside linebacker who has that.”
The Ravens hold the No. 26 pick in the first round, but Dupree may not last that long, and the Ravens arguably have more pressing needs.
"Odds still favor the Ravens taking a wide receiver or cornerback at No. 26. But the Ravens lost linebacker Pernell McPhee, who had 7½ sacks last season, to the Bears in free agency," wrote Clifton Brown of CSNBaltimore.com. "The Ravens’ top two pass rushes are both over 30 years old– Terrell Suggs (32) and Elvis Dumervil (31).
"If Dupree is still on the board after the first 20 picks, it will be interesting to see if that changes the Ravens’ thinking. Especially with the owner saying another pass rusher would be welcome."
Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune has the New Orleans Saints taking Dupree at No. 13 in a mock draft released Thursday.
ESPN NFL Insider Mel Kiper Jr., playing the role of general manager in his "Grade A" mock draft, has Dupree going to the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 21, five spots before the Ravens' selection:

"I'm committed to adding a pass-rusher, and Dupree isn't exactly a steal at No. 21, but I figured it was only a 50-50 shot that he'd get to this point, so it's not a difficult call given how bad the pass rush was last season. He doesn't come in with an arsenal of moves, but he's an exceptional athlete and certainly adds upside where we're currently lacking it."
