Who is anyone kidding? Pickett was made to be a Pittsburgh Steeler. If He is there at 20(which might not happen) Im almost sure they take him. Pittsburgh is a potential trade partner for either 1st rounder IMO. I would actually prefer to deal #4 and keep the 10th. We will see.

Really good article in the Athletic today about what Jets did differently last year in identifying the type of players needed to fit the schemes that Saleh and his staff would need. Kinda explains why 2020 draft was not so great. Its all about the collaboration of the coaching staff and the guy making the final decisions. Very insightful.

I would like to read that article.

I like it that some of the wide receivers and tight ends on their list played at schools where they had to play in cold weather.
Tracking the ball and catching it in cold, windy weather is something the SEC and Big 12 schools rarely have to deal with.

Gotta love this regime and how they’re working together to build this roster . I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds

end of the day there going to be hurt feelings across all those Twitter GMs that believe they know or their idea of what the Jets team is building... had one cracker call me an idiot because Trey McBride on the Big Board he read was not ranked in the top 50... but people have him going in the top 2nd round... a team like oh I don't know Kansas City Chiefs and their current no. 1 tight end who is turning 33 how many years does Mr. Kelce have left and to draft someone that literally is his younger self with the 30th pick makes too much sense...

but it is what it is, if McBride actually falls to the 2nd the round will the Jets draft him?

According to your big board gmf1369 the Jets would be better off trading back from #4 and maybe #10 and drafting WR Burks and OT Penning in the middle of Rd #1 of the Draft while stock piling picks in Rds #2, #3, #4, #5 which might not be a bad idea. We would still be getting a good number of very good players to choose from. We would still have the ammo to trade back up to the latter part of Rd #1 to pick a player like Zion Johnson, McBride, or Dotson whom they think another team may be drafting.

how can you not want this cat inside next to Q?

Stays home, makes the tackle... On stunts and counters pushes the pocket...

The way this draft is shaking out I think it would be better to draft a front 7 defender at 4 and get the OLman either at 10 or later if we were to complete a trade down.

Agree and think G is correct that Walker might be the play at #4 and use #10 to get later #1 and added #2. opens up a lot of possibilities to add value to our depleted roster.

I’ll say this and leave it alone. If we ended up with 3 2nd rounders, I would like to trade 2of them to the Lions for the 32nd pick.

just so I understand your rationale, is that to get the extra year or the flexibility to grab a coveted player if there?

Both . If I know starting at pick 4 that I have the opportunity to acquire that additional 1st day pick it will go a long way in determining who I pick . That additional 1st day pick is either Dotson, McBride or Winfrey

Tinstar, you would trade (2) 2nd Rounders to move up for the 32nd overall pick. Your giving up way, way too much to move up to the 32nd overall pick. I wouldn't trade a 2nd and 3rd to move up for the 32nd overall pick.

WR Burks and OT Penning
Treylon seems as a developmental option
Penning is not a need and he does not translate inside
Burks would be considered a smart pickup if the Jets had an established one two punch at receiver and he would come in and be the third option but we are building we need prospects that don't need time to develop -- Arkansas manufactured touches for him, are we going have to do that too?

The way I figure it you have to give something to get something . Since I’m keeping the 35th pick I figure that the 38th and the 2nd I get for moving down from the 10th .
