I definitely think EDGE should be first pick, but it wouldn’t be mad at Linderbaum at 10

Actually............I would prefer that they nab Linderbaum before another team scarfs him up. I think with the free agency additions Center became more critical than edge. I still want another edge guy and another TE though.

EDGE
Linderbaum even though that’s high for a center.
McBride
WR

That’s what I would like to see as of now.

After signing Tyler Conklin and C.J. Uzomah
You think they still go after McBride?
So for 40 years we have no TEs now we'd be stocked
I like it!!!!

McBride is still a top their big board
they have Ruckert, Tuner, Kolar, and Barry also there but if he is available they will take him.
He will be able to develop without having to be thrown into the deep end with these two on board.
Ryan Griffin, Trevon Wesco, Brandon Dillon and Ken Yeboah are the other options.
There is an expectation they will carry four tight ends on the roster next year.

Doubt Zion Johnson will be available in the second but Cole Strange is gettable in round 3. A developmental interior lineman that impressed at the Senior Bowl. Limited center action but is a career guard. He improved his stock being versatile and understanding line adjustments. One year behind Connor McGovern could eventually the following year take the job for the future.

And yes McGovern is still highly sought by the Jets coaching staff and should have a good year in 2022. Would not be shocked if he gets a new deal, but building through the draft is imperative for the roster to keep evolving. So anything is possible.

McGovern had stepped it up last season but I still think we need to bring in his replacement to develop behind him.

I’m not sold on him, but I wouldn’t hate it either. It doesn’t matter. JD took a bunch of people I never heard of last year. Either way he has to hit home runs on his first 4 picks.
Let me say this nicely Joe Douglas loves offensive lineman that are versatile meaning they can play more than one position. A career center that CAN NOT play guard is worthless because if he strikes out as center he becomes worthless, water boy type move. With that saying during the Senior Bowl Robert Saleh and the coaching staff had not one, not two but three offensive lineman take snaps at center. Two excelled the third well he was okay not great.

Zion Johnson Boston College, was the top 2nd round then prospect. And fourth round Cole Strange from Tennessee-Chattanooga. Now Zion because of the Senior Bowl is an outside the Top 25 first round selection, with his Pro Day on the 25th he could cement himself as a Top 25 projected selection in the upcoming NFL Draft. Cole Strange also elevated his stock from a late fourth to mid third round prospect. The Jets would be smart to hone in and target Cole.

They also do like Cade Mays who entered the Senior Bowl late and was assigned to the Lions team. Mays from Tennessee has versatility at all five offensive line roles. Started left tackle, kicked inside to both guards spots with a few stints at right tackle and plenty snaps over the course of his career at both Georgia then Tennessee.

So if you are choosing a lightweight only Center who has been known in college as a good open field blocker but lacks the girth to sustain power against bigger defenders like Ed Oliver and soon to be Jordan Davis then he is not worth having Zach Wilson seeing medical attention for bruised thighs because Linderbaum will be on rollerskates moving backwards in our blocking scheme.

Value the input "G" . I saw Linderbaum listed in several places as the top center in this draft, but truthfully, I never scouted him myself. I'm sure JD is planning on drafting our next center, along with another edge rusher and tight end. I'll trust him to do his job just as I have so far. I'd expect he's also looking for another RB and kicker to add to the mix as well.

I didn’t think my response making those points would have been accepted as well as yours so I was hoping you would respond. Well done .

Even at center Linderbaum is a little lite in the rump .

Let him hang out with Becton. That will fix his rump.

Linderbaum may be light in the rump, but he can move and knock the Linebackers out of the way quicker then the lard ass the Jets have there now.

Let me repeat for those who may have missed it. There’s nothing wrong with the OC currently starting for my NY JETS. It’s not his fault that he was placed between a rookie 1st day starter and a veteran practice squad player . Once AVT got his feet wet and the coaching staff finally replaced said practice squad player with a decent veteran, the OL play improved tremendously.

Drafting his replacement is necessary though.

The quicker the better. Once we get a Center, the Offensive line will dominate. Any Center is better than what we have. The Knicks and Rangers Centers could do a better job.

Tinstar, ask SackExchange to come out of retirement and play Center for us. He was an Offensive lineman in College. He could easily slide over to Center.
