Surprised the slow to move Jets (except when they're in their usual haste mode) they decided on the kicking competition to be over.

Pineiro, 26, went 8-for-8 on field goals and 9-for-10 on extra points in five games last season for the Jets.
Oh well. Woody is the true football man unless he can drink tea with the Queen, he'll choose the latter.

Ashtyn Davis might stay simply because of the lack of depth at safety. Whitehead, Joyner, Pinnock, Parks and Davis. Whitehead’s the only player that seems completely safe.

Mims seems to have made some progress, but every time I see “Mims with a great catch” it follows with “Mims with the drop” or “Mims with the penalty”. I’d see if anyone wants to give up a 2023 4th for him. WR room is loaded.

And don't forget the ball that he had both hands on that was taken away for an interception. Yes, it was contested, but they need someone who can hold onto balls like that.

The surprise at Safety could be the undrafted FA Adams.

I read they’re trying to get Jackson and the TE Charles on the practice squad.

When they cut guys before the deadline, it is because:
They want to try to get them through and onto the practice squad
They hope the player can find a spot on another team
The player isn't good.

We'll see a bunch of all three this week.
