Aaron Rodgers, Sam Darnold or a different QB?

So what will or should the Jets do for our QB next year and/or beyond?

A-Rod technically this year his stats are average, which isn’t bad compared to what we have had here for a decade or so. The problem with that is we expected more from him. Not the elite MVP Green Bay Rodgers type play but at least above average play and we haven’t gotten that from him. With these stats he’s put up this year, the Jets would have been a playoff team with the team they had last year and the year before but the team as a whole has fallen off, so his average play hasn’t helped at all. Plus his attitude, demeanor and non-leadership skills doesn’t help at all.

Bringing Sam Darnold back might be our answer but I’m personally scared he’ll turn back into a pumpkin and not be for us, what he is in Minnesota. The Jets would be paying this man a significant amount of money with no guarantees that he won’t be garbage again. So do they take the case on bringing back Darnold?

Then you have the option of letting Rodgers walk, not signing Darnold and going with Tyron Taylor for a year or less and seeing if Jordan Travis, the rookie they drafted last year can be the answer?

Another option is signing a different free agent QB, not Darnold (pick one) and see if they can beat out T. Taylor and Jordan Travis. Garbage ass Kirk Cousin will most likely be available.

Last is drafting a QB. The Jets will be drafting around 7-10 and that won’t be high enough to get one of the top two QBs this year. IMO, they shouldn’t trade the farm to go up for either of these guys. So should they draft a QB in the later rounds and go that route?

I will back this post. We are betting everything on one year as we will need to start over next year with a pick & that will take more years to develop him. Did yiu hear that gram. .......did you hear that gram. I forget he does not get his hearing aids in until 12

Wow you really disappointed Ch there .he always thought his pregame posts got you excited for each game . Maybe he will send you a case of his viagrabeer to try. He sent one to gram & the deer run faster now away from him then when he has his gun.

Who plays doesn't matter, this team will be losing for a few more years, at the very least. Build a team then draft the franchise guy when the team is ready

I agree but i do feel it is worth one year with Rodgers ...it may be a one in a 25 chance but if we get a top coach things can turnaround quick.

This is a unique dilemma/situation but I’m not surprised at all that the Jets are all wrapped up into it. A future first ballot HOFer that is not playing anywhere to what he used to be and no idea as to which way they should go next. SMDH!

If that’s the case, then every QB needs to stay as far away from the Jets as possible! The Jets will have a new GM, HC and CS in here next year. That should mean that he won’t encounter the same BS he encountered his first time around with the Jets! Now that’s what it should mean, what it will actually mean, we soon shall see!

I personally feel that they should cut their losses with Rodgers and go with Tyrod Taylor next year. He probably won’t be much better but they can start the season with him and still develop Jordan Travis. By game 6-7, maybe Travis will be showing true signs that he’s ready to go.

Hell, they can even draft a QB in the 4th or 5th rounds or later and see what this kid has to offer also. Jets will undoubtedly be trash again next year, so why not go this route. They have no chance of drafting the top two QBs this coming draft anyway, and trading up to get one of these guys will no doubt be disastrous, so why not!

I'm fine with Tyrod starting since this team can't even win with a HOF QB. Problem with Tyrod is he is always injured. At this point I don't really care who starts until it's a young developing QB. The Jets aren't worth the time at this point. They have a long way to go before that happens.

I think this year was a redshirt year. Not sure how many reps he got. Next year he should be QB3 and practicing with the team more. Still should take a QB this next draft.
