As bad as we looked, we're only going to get better! A healthy Decker, Ivory, and an angry Sheldon Richardson to help out, we'll be fine.
Coples and Davis. Hopefully not on this defense next season.
I will also add in no way is fitz at fault for this game see above for reasons we lost
Fitz was horrid. He threw only a handful of accurate passes, and his deep balls were completely and totally pathetic. Smith had a step a couple times and the ball was underthrown at least 10 yards. But you are correct, he did not lose the game, he is just incapable of coming back in a game like this which is just as bad. We cannot win with Fitz at QB, he is just too unable to make plays and he does not really protect the ball either.
Positives:
- Defense stepped up in the second half, half time adjustments were good once again.
- Maybe our Coach sees that Kerley needs to be on the field.
Negatives:
- Team looked unprepared/unmotivated.
- No run game, again (Ivory loss really hurt).
- Fitz consistently underthrows longer balls, led to 2 or 3 missed scores and an interception. No really deep throws to speak of, didn't stretch the field.
- Special teams, uggh, other than Kerley. D line little pressure most of the day.
- Another (third) bad challenge by Bowles; fire the guy upstairs.
We need to get Decker and Ivory back before next week.
Completely disagree. If people are going to get on Geno, you have to blame Fitz. He was TERRIBLE today. He can't throw deep all and, and consistently underthrows receivers who are wide open. WAYYYY too many picks.
He is simply not a good QB and the defense masked a lot of his issues the past 2 games.
I think our depth at wideout is good. I'm more worried about our backs . Other than Ivory, we don't have no game changers.Bump back down to earth after the first 2 weeks. Now the D won't believe the hype and ensure they step up. It's also clear that we need a bit more depth at WR...

There's no secret about the way Jets have to play to succeed. Protect the ball, avoid penalties. Neither happened today. This is the result. Our offense isn't good enough to overcome mistakes. Can it be? Maybe, but we're a way from that.
... agree...Right side of line was bad today.I have several reasons why i think we lost.
1. no eric decker kerley and shaq evans are awful. The eagles knew we didn't have a passing attack so they concentrated on stopping the run which brings me to reason number 2.
Lest give Philly some credit, there D played well... the WR had little to no separation all game...similar to last year. W/o decker they could cover our 3-4th receivers.
2. no ivory say what you want but powell and stacy are not bell cow backs they both disappointed me big time today.
Powell did a good job blocking and when he had to catch - he was open a lot underneath but time in again Fitz looked the other way.... Stacy is useless he missed may blocks and should be cut.
3. our team speed is horrendous we really are one of the slowest teams out there on offense and esp defense.
I think our LB are slow, DL is good and CB-SS-FS have good speed. We got beat on simple RB flare passes in the flat ... both ILB are slow which isn't news to anyone....
4. poor ass tackling i don't know how many times we had them in the backfield for a huge loss only for them to escape with a 7-8 yard run. We got hurt by our own aggressiveness...many time #24 just reversed field and there was no one there...+ give there OL credit they played well and handled our DL ....
5. Final reason is our run blocking is atrocious. Pass rushing is really good only gave up 2 sacks so far but the run defense is awful.
