i'm holding out hope ivory stays healthy & our defense will go from very good to special with the addition of richardson..

if both things happen i believe the jets can make some noise in the playoffs (if we get there) with fitzpatrick..

I don't believe the Jets can make any noise in the playoffs. But this team is still rebuilding. Making the playoffs in Bowles first season is a nice achievement. They just need some players to make this team better. TE, WR, OL, FB, QB. They need all of them. But I do like the path they are on right now.

Don't for get Ridley will return to practice week 6, and to games week 8.

Think he's only 27, if he has anything left, this will be one bruising running game that should be able to wear D's down

I think that's disaster in the waiting. Ridley had serious fumbling issues in NE. If the Jets start using him heavy late in the season, with the playoffs on the line, and he starts chronically fumbling like he did with NE? The Jets will be doomed. But as Mike Westhoff mentioned is his podcast appearance, I'm also not very sure of Bilal Powell. Not sure if he's the best compliment o Chris Ivory?

Chronically fumbling? He has 8 fumbles in 4 years. 4 of them took place in 2012 when he had 1,263 yards rushing. More fumbles then are optimum but hardly chronically fumbling.

He also has a 6.5 yard reception average.

I'll take his 4.4 career yards per rush in a late season play off push.

Well, if he fumbles 4 times late this season, do you think it will cost us our chance at the playoffs? I sure do. You're also talking about a claim to fame that was 3 years ago.

Ridley had fumbling issues in the sense that BB didn't like ANY fumbles because the Patsies kept the balls nice and soft and deflated for their RBs.

C'mon Maine, he didn't have 4 fumbles over 8 games, he had 8 fumbles over 4 years.

Over last 4 years De Marco Murray has had 13

Arian Foster (excluding 2013, he was hurt) has had 15 over last 4 years he played

Lesean Mc Coy 12 over last 4 years

Marshawn Lynch 16 over last 4 years

As I said 8 fumbles over 4 years isn't optimum, but its not chronic either. He's had an excellent rushing average over his career, not just 1 year.

So if we're talking since 2012, and you're calling it a 4 season span, you're counting 2015. Part of which he got benched. Did he not? For fumbling, no less, right?

Now? How much time has he missed since rupturing his ACL?

See you make it sound like he's been playing all this time and hasn't had any fumbles at all. At least be objective and accurate about this time span you're talking about.

No, not at all. I'm making it sound like he has had 8 fumbles in 4 years. Not including 2015. He hasn't played.

He wasn't cut for fumbling, he had no fumbles in 6 games last year. He was released because he wasn't going to be ready for the first 6 weeks of the 2015 season.

I honestly due not remember Pennington in the pros ever having a deep ball. He was accurate but his deep ball stunk from the very beginning. Could be wrong but that's how I remember him
Chad actually threw several deep passes that connected. Accuracy and timing have a lot to do with connecting on the deep ball. His arm strength issue was the velocity on certain throws, i.e. the deep out pattern. Those kind of throws were hard for him to do. But he threw beautiful deep balls that almost always hit the receiver's hands in perfect stride.

I just hope we did not mess up letting Shane Vereen 5'10"/205 (26) go to the Giants ? He looked very fast and elusive the other night ?

Go Jets...Cyborg

Ryan Fitzpatrick's on pace to throw for 3,696 yards this season. That would be the fourth best passing season in #Jets history. #nyj #nyj ets

Fitzpatrick is also on pace for 28 touchdowns this year, which would be the second best passing season in #Jets history. #nyj #nyj ets

He is also on a pace to throw 24 Ints... Which I believe would be the most by a Jets QB ever

As pointed out by another poster, and i apologize i can't remember who. Most of Fitz's picks weren't a result of a bone headed play. Not that much damage was done.

The second Smith interception, had he not been thrown to the ground, might have been a long gainer.

Marshall, to his credit, took full ownership of the pick that went through his hands.

The pick in the closing minutes of the Birds game, Marshall was open deep down the middle. Fitz had to throw the ball. Winters took the play off, and the ball got tipped.

The jump ball to Marshall in the end zone, the defensive back made a great play on the ball. Calculated risk play, Marshall will win most of those jump balls Still on Fitz.

The pick when he threw to Smith down the middle was under thrown, on Fitz

Can't remember the other one.

Point is they weren't of the devastating variety of picks. Like when a QB panics, runs in the wrong direction, and throws it up for grabs at the LOS.

I have made that point, but so have others. His ints were actually nil until we told Fitz to go gunslinger in the end of the Eagles game. When you go gunslinger you are accepting ints as a possibility.

But once again the Jets need sure handed running backs. The minute they start giving up fumbles the Jets are done. Because it has already been established that the Jets are not a come from behind team. They cannot give up fumbles and win the game. They just do not have that ability to recover from deficits right now.

Ridley hasn't played in what? A year now? You think he's going to come in and hit the ground running? I don't. I think he's going to fumble and ruin the Jets chances at reaching the playoffs.

The Jets should be using more of Bilal Powell late in the season. He has a great average and has been used very sparingly.

I certainly agree on Powell. For some reason the guy has been under utilized, by both Rex, and Bowels. Not sure I understand it. Kind of like the Kerley, Enuwa situation.

Ridley's been out a year. Same as almost every one with a blown out knee. As I said, his bll security isn't optimum, but i don't see him as a fumbling machine. He's also very productive. If they don't find a guy who can pound the ball, Ivory will be useless by the end of the season. It's been the story of Ivory's career.

Great player, just is always hurt when over worked
