I have a guy that did not make the top 250 sad to say.
Reading an article earlier in which they referenced a great guitarist in the prog mode, the late Ollie Halsall. Halsall played in a cool band I liked in the 70s called Patto, as well as in Tempest, briefly with Allan Holdsworth.
Thanks, man. I've forgotten more than I remember most days.I'm floored Prof. Now that's going deep ! Shocked that anyone else remembers these guys. They were prog before the was prog.
Funny, I just asked Alexa for Turn Turtle the other day (didn't know it of course)
I'm still floored, I expect to hear about Bloodwyn Pig, Fat Mattress or Bloodrock next
I have a bunch of pictures with Steve & Phil. I have met both a few times. Tony & Mike & Peter I have met once each but with no pictures,
I miss the tights.
@Fudbutter As we're both fans of Paul Gilbert, thought I'd post this fantastic interview with Rick Beato. Gilbert is as frenetic as his playing, and just as entertaining. Really dug his take on so many musical aspects/directions.
"My style is perpetually confused because I love Burt Bacharach just as much as I love Yngwie. Can I fit those two things together? I don’t know”: Paul Gilbert explains how he developed his playing style (or lack thereof)
The shred icon who introduced the Makita drill to the electric guitar says his mission was less concerned with style and more with playing what he liked and playing it wellwww.musicradar.com
Larry Carlton at NAMM this year. Only 75, but he seems older and a bit shaky. Came out of semi-retirement to do the show
