Actually it seems as if Groin14 mysteriously vanished into thin air almost exactly the time the NFL released the report proving that the entire Patriots franchise are about as honest and moral as an organized crime family

lol, I hear ya! However this Grogan guy is, its pretty sad he's arguing (debating) with us about a player that has nothing to do with his team. Especially on an exclusive Jets site. Is what it is I guess

The real Grogan would know better than to compare Hill to Smith.

Well 55, you're about to find out this season if the comparisons to Hill are true. It's amazing to me that anyone could be so confidant in any draft pick, anyone that's ever watched football that is. So by your stance there is no chance for Smith's limitations in route running to ever show up on an NFL field? Therefore if he does fail, it will be for totally different reasons than Hill?

Gonna be fun watching Jimmie Crappolla quarterbacking for at least half a season while Cheating Tammi is suspended

Yes, the season Jameis Winston fails will be different from why Jamarcus Russell Fails.

the reason Smith fails or succeeds will be different from why Hill failed.

Every player in the NFL is different and how they came to be and how they failed and the coaching and opportrunities they receive are all unique. None are exactly the same.

the tools Smith brings is nothing like the skills that Hill brought.

Their skills arent the same, neither are their measurables, experiences, or coaching experiences.

No, I would say nothing that happened to Hill will reflect on Smith...even if Smith fails.

Like comparing Allen Iverson and Michael Jordan...makes no sense at all...they arent the same types of players or bring the same elements to the team. You say they both put the ball in the basket...so they're the same! If you had eyes, you'd see they are very different players.

Also, you want me to evaluate a player off his rookie year? Why would I judge a WR off his rookie season on if he's the next Hill or not? Definitely not the real Steve Grogan or an evaluator of talent...

I never said there is 0% he is a bust...I do feel he brings a unique skill set to the team and is more polished than he's getting credit for...but what do I know watching Big 10 football my whole life.

You said he's a deep threat only...when you didn't even know Urban asked him to be the primary deep threat and except less targets. Funny, he took that role and led the nation in catches and TDs over 20 yards and was amongst college football least dropped passes per attempt over the last 15 college football seasons...but dont let the facts get in the way of a good "I hate Jets players" rant...keep it coming...

Yes, it will be.

Hill had horrible hands, which plagued him. The hope was that his catching would develop.

Smith has great hands.

Since the Jets to the best of my knowledge play with a properly inflated football, having a receiver with good hands is quite helpful.

55 do you understand that what I'm saying is not all that different from what you're saying? Based on this the only place you and I are really in disagreement, is with the use of Stephen Hill as a comparable, other than that I don't really disagree with anything you say here? Oh and I didn't say he "will be" a deep threat only, what I said was, "he has been a deep threat only, and a deep threat alone isn't good enough at the NFL." Beyond that I made no predictions.

Wow, he was a high jumper in H.S & College jumping over 7 feet, which is incredible. With his speed and jumping ability, I now know why Todd McShay said he was the most underrated WR in this years WR draft class.

Go Jets...Cyborg

This kid reminds me of DeSean Jackson coming out of Cal. Labeled "one dimensional" then broke onto the scene like know ones business. Great pick!

Just remember he is over 2 inches taller, 20+ lbs bigger, and nowhere near as fast as djax...
