I don't want to be the bad guy, but this bickering would be okay if you guys stay on topic and cut out the personal attacks...
i asked brick about johnson's comments in this thread.. still no answer, BTW..
& unlike brick, i didn't get in one last dig under the guise of being compliant..
Woody talks about this team if he is you or me, he doesn't have any knowledge on how things should be but speaks what he thinks as a fan not as a would be owner with football knowledge... It was when he hired Rex Ryan as head coach that things started to change, Woody became more proactive in front of the cameras & media speaking his mind like he has clue... Like Rex Ryan he put the front office in a predicament with his boasting of certain players whom were in contract year or free agency making their price tag more than they were worth, alla we have the FitzEgo situation, and Woody fueling the fire stating we need Fitz to come home... He is the owner stating we need Fitz and Fitz is smart enough to say well you need me, pay me... Then Woody puts Maccagnan in a tough situation of how to downplay a fan/owner that doesn't know when to shut his mouth and let the front office do their jobs...
Let's be honest. The jets staff regard Fitz as the starter if he walks in the door.
Geno is spoken of in terms like" we'll see if he develops" "he has tools" "we'll see how he does in camp" "right now he's on the team"
Isn't it clear where each qb stands in the eyes of the front office? What's there to argue about?
Our opinions don't matter, we make educated guesses and pray for the best.
I see Fitz having the potential to leave a very positive thumb print this team. Last year he walked in the door a stranger, immediately made marshal (a life long diva) his bitch, mad max style. He grabbed this team by the throat and broke team records. Those are things petty can look at and absorb. The players are in place. Unfortunately, we have a salary cap, and are forced to pay Fitz 7.5 or cut a player to pay him more.
Geno is a dope. What fixes that? Studying and applying. If Fitz doesn't come back, geno is young, healthy, can be elusive, and has a strong arm. I'd like him gone, but in this year's reality, there's a chance he's workable.
A gm doesn't want to go into the season hoping his qb doesn't suck, he wants consistent play.

I brought up recent quotes from Woody that contradict your supposition. Is this a cherry picking contest? We can all win those by choosing to focus on the comments we like and don't like.
I see it all the time around here. People using stats and quotes to back up their own hidden agendas. In this case, it's a Geno Smith hate festival that never seems to go away. And if, God forbid, someone calls out the detractors for their exaggerations and sweeping generalizations about players, they get the wrath of Jetfan13 and Mainejet.

Well, that's the thing. I am enjoying the hell out of this. I love telling the truth whether it offends someone or not I could care less, so long as it is the TRUTH.
Elias is not involved I am and I am telling you like I told the other two ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Want to fight take it to private messages and leave it off the board, discuss the topic without this vulgar attitude towards each other... here is the other option as I mentioned to other two as well there is an option via the settings {Edit Ignore List} add whatever members you don't wish to deal with and call it a day...

that being said to keep him for next season then let him leave in free agency he will sign for some kind of contract and we can get a return on his waste of a draft selection to allow this regime to use said draft pick to acquire something relevant in the future...
Just wanted to chime in on the attacks. Arguments are frequent here as in every other message board. The point is that no one is not telling you to stop speaking the truth, we are asking to address the topic on hand and not be nasty towards each other. It makes it a more enjoyable experience for all of us.

We have to nip it in the butt because these differences just drag on and on. I feel like the Geno debate is worst than politics sometimes.
