I might add that whichever supposed insider started that 49ers rumor must have failed math in school. The niners have only around 3 mil in cap space. They'ed be hard pressed to juggle their cap to come up with enough money and they have no picks in rounds one or two this year. How on earth could they beat the Jets offer and not cripple the franchise for the next 20 years ?
All I'll say is that I hope you are right. But as a Jet fan, would the floor dropping out really surprise you? I'm sure we'll all be laughing about the consternation the last few weeks have brought. Or, we'll know that the power of the SOJ has not diminished an iota.
I understand exactly where you're coming from and admit that it's difficult considering the Jets track record with such deals but I've learned to not react to much to all the smoke that hits the air this time of year and try to see only the real facts that show themselves.
When JD stated confidently, “he will be here” it sealed it for me. No way a GM would put his neck on the line like this unless there was already something in place. For a specific reason that we have no idea about they are waiting. It would not surprise me in any way if the draft comes and goes and this is not resolved. I think the date is June 1st when trading him would be more beneficial for the pack from a money standpoint. My bet is that is when it will happen.

There is a significant cost savings for the Packers to do the trade post June so this is a real possibility that I mentioned once before.

Yeah "G" they could go that route but it's not really practical. They still have to figure out the cap situation and that won't be easy and the Packers are looking to get help for their new, basically unknown, QB this season and picks in 2024 won't help with that. But hey, anything is possible, almost. I wouldn't be surprised to see Trey Lance traded for picks or to move up in the draft though.

If that's the case, will we be drafting for Packers with one of our 2nd round picks like they do in the NBA, or do the rules preclude us from dealing current draftees?
